Passport Expiry

Hello, I've seen a few comments about passports and their expiry time.

Mine expires 1 1/2 months after we're due back. Would having less than 2 months left on a passport cause issues?

Flying from UK to US for 7 day western Caribbean cruise?

Thanks

(It's our first cruise)

If your passport is from the U.K. as your address suggests, then it will not be a problem for entry into the US, as you are exempt from the 6 month rule. Not knowing where you are cruising to I cannot address the other ports. Also the vagaries of individual cruise lines, which often attempt to enforce rules as they interpret them may come into play. If you provide more info on the particulars of the cruise we may be able to help more.

Hi, Deano and welcome! :)

I'd make sure by getting a new passport ASAP. I wasn't allowed to check in on line with a P&O cruise with only 5 months left- and that was a cruise entirely in the EU, with an EU passport- it was the cruise line which wanted it.

RCI may have different rules, but I wouldn't risk it.

You have time; remember that the photo image has certain restrictions now, such as showing ears; no smiling- I go to the PO which tells you the rules and does the paperwork.

Your new passport will have the 1 1/2 months added on, so you won't lose anything.

Good luck!

PS.. I'm supposing you have an ESTA already?

Happy cruising.

Yeah, me and the wife have both had our ESTA's approved already. If I got a new passport I'll need to re-apply for mine.
