Day trip suggestions out of Rotterdam, Holland on VoV turnaround day

Upcoming Voyage of the Vikings this August, which has two days in Rotterdam, Holland for its collectors segment turnaround day.

 

Wondering what others, who took the VoV in the past, did during that time - day trips, train trips, bike trips, overnight someplace else .... been to Rotterdam several times so we don't need to see the city, but would like more of a country side excursion we can manage on our own. Thanks
