I can see the ferry schedule and prices to Water Island from Crown Bay. But I would like some input from those who have done this. Where can we walk to from the dock at Water Island to get a drink or something to eat? Is there any other place of interest within a short walk? Been to St.Thomas many times also St. John. Getting too old to want to snorkel and need something different to do.

There may also be a lady with a small pick-up with benches that drops you at Dinghy's Beach bar (free/for tips). You can use their free lounges and eat there, or walk down to Heidy's.

Be aware that the ferry is small and it's not uncommon for folks to get left behind when the ferry comes to take you back to Crown. Some folks can also be a bit pushy in those situations so if you decide to get to the ferry dock early grab a good spot.

Thanks. Free golf cart sounds good. How far, or how long to get to Honeymoon beach?
Just to give you an idea of what to expect - there are no free golf carts. There is usually a "safari" truck or a small pickup with benches that meets the ferry and takes visitors to Dinghy's for tips. Sometimes there are golf carts available for rent but that depends on the season and day. During high season (Dec - Mar) daily rental carts may be unavailable as they are taken as weekly rentals. Most golf carts parked at the ferry dock are privately owned vehicles not for public use. Sometime a passing resident might offer an elderly or disabled person a ride but you should not have an expectation that a ride in a golf cart would be provided. The beach however is a walkable distance from the ferry dock, about 1/4 mile and a stroll to the beach takes maybe 6 -8 minutes. Hope this helps. :) Edited by Livethelife

Yes if the pick-up is running that day they will let you know how often she'll be returning to the dock. The walk is partway uphill (not uphill both ways like when I was a kid :p) and as mentioned sometimes you can rent a cart if you want to tour the island but that's not a given.
