Colo Cruiser Posted January 25, 2017 #2 Share Posted January 25, 2017 Getting off ship in Livorno. Any one got a shuttle-paid car to Florence? Recommend anyone? Not sure what a shuttle paid car is , but there are a number of tour guides/shuttles right in the terminal. We have done this a couple of times. Dropped us off in Florence and picked us up later. Also the same to Pisa. We also used Rome in Limo for a couple of tours in the past. http://www.romeinlimo.com/
Rare Hlitner Posted January 25, 2017 #3 Share Posted January 25, 2017 If you simply want to spend your day in Livorno, there is generally a shuttle bus to the city (usually to the Piazza Grande). Depending on your line this might be free or have a small fee. However, we have often pointed out that this is not always a good option for those wanting to take the train to Florence. On many of our cruises, the shuttle bus did not even start making its runs until around 8:30. This is a bit late if you want to have significant time in Florence...since you still need to take another local bus, taxi, or a long hike to get from the shuttle bus drop point to the train station. We have heard of some ships that actually run a shuttle to the train station, but have never seen that on our many cruises into Livorno. If Florence and an early train are your goal, then consider trying to get a taxi to take you to the station (this is not always easy). Duck Duck Cruise Posted January 27, 2017 #5 Share Posted January 27, 2017 http://www.tuscanybus.com/shop/ We have read many reviews by people that have taken these tours and are very happy with the service and communication. We choose to book the one from Livorno to Florence to Pisa and back to Livorno or they do take you to the ship if they are running late for any reason. The price is amazing and they have free wifi on the bus.
