Latitudes Insiders Offer ?

I sent an email to my pcc seeing if we could get the extra latitudes points added for our Aug. Med. cruise. Got a reply back that this could be done, but we would lose the prepaid gratuities we had chosen as one of our 2 perks. (they were being offered when we booked- not now.) Have to decide if giving up that perk is worthwhile. The extra points would bump us up from gold to platinum. Would take the $50 shore excursion credit instead of the grats.
You can try finding a TA that will throw in free gratuities on top of the current Free at Sea perks if you book with them (either transfer your booking or start all over with them). I just received an ad from one the other day offering this for balcony and above.

Question: It says $50 shore exc. credit per port. We will ne stopping at 5 ports. That means we would get $250 per cabin??? (we have 2 balconies booked). Do we have to wait till onboard to book the excursions, or can we pre-book them, as we usually do? Do not want to take the chance that the excursions we want will be sold out before we board.

You can pre-book them, but you're supposed to call them to do this, don't just book online. You should get $50 for each of the 5 ports (that's according to the terms, I don't know if I have seen a report from anyone who has actually received credits for more than 4 ports). And the 10% discount should apply if you book after tomorrow.

Thanks for your quick reply. I didn't even notice I will get a 10% discount on excursions starting tomorrow! As for switching to a TA - I got a nice discount through Casino at Sea, so I really don't want to switch. And the TA I used to book my international air and transfers for this Med cruise had nothing better to offer- couldn't come near the CAS pricing.

OK, if it's CAS you should stick with that :p

The new Latitudes benefits include 10% off excursions for Silver Gold and Platinum, starting tomorrow. It says "onboard discount" but the FAQ says you can pre-book, too.

Thanks so much! This will save us a few hundred $$!

Just remember, you don't get the points until after you cruise, so you will still be gold on this cruise.

Click Terms and Conditions toward the bottom of your page. You'll find this...

Thanks so much! Funny thing is I logged on from another computer with a much more recent operating system and lo and behold the 2nd row of offers including the Carib and Bahamas offers appeared.

I called NCL yesterday and my PCC @ NCL today and since my booking went up $140, I would have to cancel and re-book. Not happening since I have the prepaid service charge. It would have been nice to get the $100 OBC and double points. :(

Yes, I know. No problem - I don't cruise for the tier perks! I also just got a call from my pcc. We worked it out, and since I had booked 9 months before, I will still get the double points cause I will be grandfathered in, so no reason to change my booking. We decided it was best that I keep my prepaid grats/ubp perks, (my dd's in next cabin have internet/grats as perks) and will get the 10% shore excursion discount when the tiers change tomorrow. I will book my excursions next month, so all is good! Thanks to all for their help.:)

If you booked in January, when your sailing was not designated as an Insider Offer, you don't get the extra point. You need to cancel and rebook so that your booking date is in February 2017.

Since the price has not gone up, and the promos have not changed (unless you booked at the beginning of January, during the Dash Sale), you have nothing to lose by rebooking.

You can even make a second booking without cancelling your current one (obviously not the same cabin) and verify that the Insider Offer promo code and OBC appear on the new booking.

I don't think it's something that they can (typically) add to your existing booking.

I was just able to "add" the insider offer ("Latitude Rewards") to my existing reservation to Hawaii that I booked in early January. The pricing was the same as it was when I originally booked so that may be why they were able to just add it to my existing reservation. I kept all of my perks from the original booking. They just added the promo code LATREW and sent me a new confirmation.

What number did you call to confirm this?

Just be aware that the Latitude insider offers often are different for NCL Europe than for NCL in the US. Same with promotions - they are often different between the two markets, so it all depends on where you booked your cruise. Meaning that not all of us might be entitled to the same Latitude offers or the same promotions at the same time as some else at any given time...

I booked my Breakaway cruise for November during the last week of January through NCL.com. Then on Feb 1, my sailing showed up as a Latitudes Insider Offer, so I called NCL. The guy on the line added the LIO offer code to my reservation, sent me a new confirmation with the new code on the top, and the extra $50pp OBC listed as well as my previous Free at Sea and NCL Selects Promos from the initial booking... plus the booking date remained as the initial January date (i.e. before the Feb 3 9 month extra point cutoff). When I asked if I needed to cancel and rebook to get the LIO, he laughed and said it would not be necessary and it would only take him a couple minutes to just add the code to my reservation. The entire call took maybe 10 minutes.

I was very pleased to say the least.

Did he send an amenity confirmation or just the cruise confirmation. I have called several times to have the latitudes offer added but was unsuccessful as it would wipe out my NCL Selects promotion.

He sent both, and the offers for all of NCL Selects as well as the OBC for Latitudes all show up on the cruise confirmation (and my total onboard spending on MyNCL reflects both the total for both Selects and Latitudes).

One thing to note: I made this call during the brief window in the first week of February when the NCL Selects was still being offered, so that may have something to do with it not getting wiped out when the Latitudes Insider was added.
