Hockeylover1117 Posted February 5, 2017 #4 Share Posted February 5, 2017 We've done it once out of Miami. We are platinum and chose the earliest one. It was 10:30-11. We did not get in board till a bit after 12:30. So with our first experience we did not like it. Going again at the end of this month. Hope it works out better! lovestocruise19 Posted February 5, 2017 #5 Share Posted February 5, 2017 When do you choose your check in time? I recently booked a Vista cruise for 2018. Can I already choose my time, and if so, where?

Hockeylover1117 Posted February 5, 2017 #7 Share Posted February 5, 2017 Yes we sat in the lounge till about 12:30 and finally started to get checked in and our cards. Then Finally got on board a bit after that. Yes thank you I know the order. I was married on board a ship. maryred Posted February 5, 2017 #8 Share Posted February 5, 2017 Staggered check-in was well handled in Baltimore and NYC. But only as long as people paid attention to the time they picked. Most were not happy about being told they had to wait outside if the arrived earlier than selected and we're not priority. Boarding of priority on those 3 cruises still did not start until after 11, so many with general boarding that picked an early check-in were still disappointed that they had to wait. But the processing lines were much shorter. Sent from my STV100-2 using Forums mobile app

Sent from my iPhone using Forums I think what the previous poster was pointing out is that staggered checkin doesn't apply to Platinum cruisers since you check in when you want, and you board before those who selected a time. So even if you picked a check-in time, as platinum the time selected was irrelevant.

They might not have opened it up for your cruise yet since it is in 2018. Just keep checking. Online should b an option, next to your balance. I had staggered check in last year for the Magic and chose my time before I made final payment. I also chose my time this year on the Conquest before final payment. So 2 times at 2 different ports and ships I chose my time without being paid in full.

nwo4life Posted February 5, 2017 #13 Share Posted February 5, 2017 I love staggered check in. Being able to drive straight to within 100 yards of the port in NOLA is much less stressful than getting in a 30-60 minute traffic jam because everyone is trying to arrive at the same time. YourCruiseGurl Posted February 5, 2017 #14 Share Posted February 5, 2017 This will be my first time dealing with staggered check-in on our Vista cruise in July. Of our 3 cabins, one is platinum so check-in time doesn't matter. But, we haven't paid off our cruise yet and I was able to choose the same check-in time (11-11:30) for all 3 cabins. One less thing to worry about for our group.
