NCL SKY Itinerary change June - Nov 2017

Well this definitely puts a spin on sailing on the Sky and thinking you are getting a cheap little short getaway that could potentially become a little too expensive for some depending on how many are in their family.

 

I wonder if they have any plans to expand to some of the 7 day cruises in the future. :confused:

Just received an email with a letter from NCL. Our 4 night Bahamas cruise in August has had an itinerary change and we are now going to Havana Cuba.

 

If you have a NCL Sky cruise for those dates, check your email.

Norwegian is offering guests currently booked and fully deposited on these sailings the following options:

 

- Option 1: Remain on the sailing with the new 4-Day Cuba & Bahamas itinerary and your cruise fare will be protected.

 

- Option 2: Select any available sailing in our fleet at the current published fare and your deposit will be applied towards the new sail date.

 

- If you choose any of the above options and are booked in an Inside, Oceanview, Balcony or Mini-Suite stateroom, a $25 onboard credit per stateroom will be applied to your onboard account. If you are currently booked in a suite (categories beginning with S or H) you will receive a $50 per stateroom onboard credit. The onboard credit can be used on any expenditure on the ship excluding service charges.

 

We look forward to hearing from you by February 17, 2017, so that we can modify your reservation. If we don't hear from you by February 17, 2017, your reservation will be cancelled. NCL will be taking care of the visa. $75(per person) will be added to the cost of the cruise and the visa info will be taken from the registration form. Will that change? Heaven knows.

Where did you hear the NCL would be covering cost of visas? Would that be for those of us involved in the itinerary change, or just those who initially booked for Cuba?

i think the response was NCL will take care of the paperwork for the Cuban visa but the $75 cost will be added to the price of the cruise.

If your planning on staying on this cruise to Cuba make sure you call by Feb 17th to confirm. Otherwise they are cancelling your reservations!!!

I just called NCL to question the Visa you "MUST" have to board the ship, along with your passport. I was told there would be a form to fill out and email back to NCL for the Visa. I can't find it so I think I will call the number on the bottom of the email Monday. Maybe they will have more correct info.

Do you think the ship will stay in port overnight or possibly circle Cuba? I don't think gambling is allowed while in port which would shut down the casino for the entire stay. I don't gamble but I was just curious.

 

Sky will remain in port; it will not circle.

The revised itinerary says overnight, so the ship will remain docked the whole time (or at anchor, possibly). No idea what the arrangements are for the casino, I guess it will likely stay closed.

These new itineraries aren't shown on the NCL website. Do you know if they will be open to new bookings? I am very interested in cruising to Cuba in the fall.

 

 

 

Bookings should open Feb 21st. Guess they are waiting to see how many cancel or do not reply to the email from NCL. Guests booked are given til 2/17/2017 to choose 2 options. Option 1: Remain on the cruise with new desitnation Option 2: Move your deposit over to another sailing. If no reply by 2/17 your reservation will be cancelled.

I called NCL today and was told we will receive emails next week that will include Visa form or link to it. Was told they are not ready yet.

Its going to be difficult to decide what to do in Cuba. There are not really many reviews out there, yet.

We booked on the Sky for a 4 night Nassau etc cruise, but although on my online booking the itinerary is now showing Cuba I've not had an email saying there's a change. I'm concerned with the 02/17/2017 deadline and not having a chance to change the booking.

 

Is anyone else in the same situation?

They will cancel your reservation if you do not call NCL @ 877-461-1160 today!!!! You must now have a passport AND a Visa (which NCL will get for you at a 75.00 per person fee) to board the Sky.

They said I was sent an email 7th Feb advising me of the change, but I'm certain I didn't receive it as I've checked all my email folders including spam/bin.

 

 

But anyway, they claim my reservation has already transferred over to the Cuba itinerary, despite me not confirming either way.

 

 

I hope they're right, but I guess I'll know soon enough when checking my booking on NCL.

This is the letter that my agent forwarded to us concerning the schedule change (NCL UK office).

We have taken the Cuba option and have also been told we will have to pay $75 per person for the Visa. Cuba is on my wife's bucket list so she's delighted. My daughter isn't bothered either way, I pay the bills so I'm annoyed.

I received a call from NCL yesterday in regards to us cancelling this booking. He said he anticipates that all the 4 day sailings for the SKY will be going to Cuba for the rest of the year.
