easyboy Posted February 18, 2017 #26 Share Posted February 18, 2017 I would be very surprised if it ever goes fleetwide. It would be great if it gets offered at Cape Liberty, the ports in California, and San Juan. It was already announced that it should return to Seattle, so we will have to watch this summer to see if that comes to pass. Yes to Cape Liberty! EMBFlyer Posted February 18, 2017 #27 Share Posted February 18, 2017 Luggage Valet is great for late flights. Most airlines (especially in FLL) will not let you check your bags in until 3 hours prior to departure. You're basically stuck sitting in the ticket lobby until you can check your bags in. In FLL, there's pretty much nothing outside of security. It's a long, boring wait.

That is exactly what happened to us in Houston a few years ago; it was a long long day! :( SaveSave SaveSave
eddiethekub Posted February 18, 2017 #29 Share Posted February 18, 2017 We are stoked that this service is back. Tried to use it a couple of years ago, but our flight was only minutes away from cut-off (yeah, don't bother getting into that discussion with Guest Relations!!) . We plan on using this 'no brainer' service in a couple of weeks. If United changes our flight time, I will be righteously PO'd  as we are onside by minutes!! We had an 11:23 flight last Sunday, which was 7 minutes prior to the 11:30 minimum. Silhouette Guest Relations said no problem....and there was none. Bags arrived in Newark with us. I think X needs to do a better job publicizing this. There was one little notice in the dailies and nothing else. No signs, nothing in the cabin, nothing. If it hadn't been for these boards we might have missed it. It is a great convenience, and you can basically walk off the ship whenever you want. Rare cruisestitch Posted February 18, 2017 #30 Share Posted February 18, 2017 Well, not quite, as far as walking off whenever you want. The Luggage Valet people are asked to wait until an announcement is made that their luggage has all been cleared. After that announcement, then they can go whenever they wish. Before that, there is still a chance that their suitcase might still be rejected from the program and would have to be retrieved and personally checked at the airport. HooKares Posted February 18, 2017 #32 Share Posted February 18, 2017 We are from Canada but we are travelling domestic from FLL to Seattle on Alaska, then on to a connecting flight to Canada. Would we be able to use the luggage valet? Cheers!

Hummmmm....didn't happen on Silhouette last week. Our paperwork said to disembark whenever we liked and we never heard any announcements regarding luggage valet. Rare cruisestitch Posted February 18, 2017 #35 Share Posted February 18, 2017 Two weeks ago on Eclipse the announcement came after the first couple of numbers had been called. Tomorrow's instructions are for the first luggage Valet tags AAAA to assemble in Quasar at 7:45 to wait for their call. The later tags BBBB, CCCC, etc can go anytime after that announcement. Hummmm....we had AAAA but I don't recall reading anything about assembling anywhere. Of course I'm an engineer, and we NEVER read instructions

If the connecting flight is not on Alaska Airlines, probably not.
