Port Canaveral Lobster

Wondering if anyone could tell me a good place that serves whole lobster in port canaveral? My BIL wants a whole lobster while we are in Florida. :rolleyes:

nope can't recommend a one .....

 

if he wants a lobster with claws, he does realize those come from New England .... not a local catch?

 

and even the clawless "Florida lobster" is not caught too much locally .... most arrives frozen from further south

Lobsters come from Maine, not Florida so you can get the same lobsters in Iowa that we get down here.

To actually answer your question:

 

Yes, you can get whole lobster in Cocoa Beach/Cape Canaveral.

 

Like elsewhere in the US, where to go depends on availability and I cannot recommend any one place for that reason.

 

But you can start with Jazzy's Mainely Lobster who steams whole lobster for example. Seafood Atlantic also served whole lobsters when we last visited but that was a while ago.

 

We eat mostly lobster rolls so I am not an expert on the "whole" experience!

Thanks for the replys. I know we have whole lobsters around here and to get the best he needs to go north. I'll let know he needs to head to Maine. :)

A wise decision. Warm-water lobster from Florida and the Caribbean is different (and not in a good way) in appearance, texture and taste from live cold-water Maine/Canadian lobster (which is currently selling for about $8 a pound here in NYC at a fish store two blocks from my apartment).
