cruisinbunny Posted February 18, 2017 #1 Share Posted February 18, 2017 I went on the Gem last summer (7 nights) and had a perfectly lovely time. My husband booked us for a 10 day cruise on her and I have one small concern... By the last full day of the cruise, the main pool was dirty and a bit stinky. Do they clean the pool (or drain and refill) at any point during the 10 days? Thank you! Sent from my SM-T818V using Forums mobile app

pe4all Posted February 18, 2017 #3 Share Posted February 18, 2017 They will close it, drain it and scrub it if a child has an "accident" - #2- in the pool, or an adult "can't hold their liquor." :p Have seen that done a few times on our cruises! Kingmaker_inc Posted February 18, 2017 #4 Share Posted February 18, 2017 I've seen it emptied and refilled on cruises. I've never experienced it looking dirty or smelly - and I've been on the Gem a lot.
Driberif1 Posted February 18, 2017 #5 Share Posted February 18, 2017 We have never been on the Gem but have been on multiple other NCL ships and are late night people and always the last ones to leave the bar/club each night normally around 2AM and we walk by the pools and they have always been completely empty every night at that time so I could only assume all NCL ships do the same thing and drain and refill over night. cruisinbunny Posted February 28, 2017 Author #6 Share Posted February 28, 2017 Thank you all. Hopefully that voyage was a fluke, quite relieved. Sent from my SM-T818V using Forums mobile app
