Schplinky Posted November 14, 2005 #1 Share Posted November 14, 2005 It seems strange to me that they cannot have accurate pictures of these cabins online by now. They are all on the ship and they are made (except for thesuites) at a cabin factoy near the dhipyard. I know the pics online now are not the Freedom ones because the tv's are wrong. Iamthesea Posted November 14, 2005 #2 Share Posted November 14, 2005 Probably wanting to keep the colors and designs a secret just a little while longer. Besides, I seriously doubt that the carpet has been installed yet. Still a ways to go.
Schplinky Posted November 14, 2005 Author #3 Share Posted November 14, 2005 According to video we saw, the whole room is "done" when it is instaled. Not sure about the carpet but essentially, they're all pre-fab except for the suites.
CaptData Posted November 14, 2005 #4 Share Posted November 14, 2005 That may be so but they still have to put curtains up and bed spreads on which is done just before the first trial sail. This will not be done until May. Pics do not look good without all the dressing of the room, ie pictures hung with care, phones , TVs and carpeting done. My husband has sold Real Estate and it is very hard to sell a house without furniture in it. Most people do not have good imaginations for a Dining Room table that will fit in a small space. That is why show homes have furiture in them.

Schplinky Posted November 14, 2005 Author #6 Share Posted November 14, 2005 Sure, but I'm guessing they have a few fully dressed test cabins at the factory.
ORANGEinINDY Posted November 14, 2005 #7 Share Posted November 14, 2005 I am almost positive that they would have at the very least some "mock-ups" of rooms for the RCCL upper brass to look at. It could be that the final design touches have not yet been chosen. They may have as many as a dozen (or more) rooms mocked up in different patterns waiting for management to pick one. That decision might not be needed for a while, to still give Bedspread manufacturers/suppliers (and others) enough lead time for ship completion. From my engineering experience management will wait until the very last possible day to make that decision. (or, as Dilbert might say, the last possible day plus some "management wiggle room")
FitzLA Posted November 14, 2005 #8 Share Posted November 14, 2005 They just don't want to show you yet. End of story. Rooms are part of the surprise they are waiting on.
Schplinky Posted November 14, 2005 Author #9 Share Posted November 14, 2005 There are very few surprises left, considering the full deck plans are out.

FitzLA Posted November 14, 2005 #12 Share Posted November 14, 2005 If you know any differently, feel free to share. Otherwise, I can't see what's left. I was just teasing you. There will be little things, from what I've heard, but the big things have all been announced.
Schplinky Posted November 14, 2005 Author #13 Share Posted November 14, 2005 It feels like a long wait from now until the first reviews start rolling in. Ken Rush was a good TA and organised parties and all that so I'm sure he'll be fine.
FitzLA Posted November 14, 2005 #14 Share Posted November 14, 2005 I just wish there was more for us to see. I am booked on something that I feel like I know nothing about. Kinda exciting in a way but frustrating too.

FitzLA Posted November 14, 2005 #16 Share Posted November 14, 2005 Probably not unitil after at least the Endeavor of the Seas is out, and maybe longer, I would guess. It is selling out so fast as it is.
kenandlaura06 Posted November 15, 2005 #17 Share Posted November 15, 2005 Do you think the rooms will really be that different than the rooms pictured?
FitzLA Posted November 15, 2005 #18 Share Posted November 15, 2005 Do you think the rooms will really be that different than the rooms pictured? Yes, they are suppose to be different. The Freedom will have Wall Mounted flat panel tvs leaving more room for something other that what the tv sits on in other ships.
FitzLA Posted November 15, 2005 #19 Share Posted November 15, 2005 One more thing. This is something that you might not know. The Solarium pool butts right up agains the Centrum and will have windows underwater looking into the centrum. Not sure if it new or not, but I found in interesting. Schplinky Posted November 15, 2005 Author #20 Share Posted November 15, 2005 Now that I had not heard and it's kind of thrilling. I may moon the dolphins! I wonder where they'll hang the flat screens. Mike thinks it'll be at the foot of the bed, which more or less makes sense.
BirmanCrazy Posted November 17, 2005 #21 Share Posted November 17, 2005 I have also heard that one pool is supposed to look like or have a fake coral reef at the bottom????

ElvisandTracey Posted November 17, 2005 #23 Share Posted November 17, 2005 Ok, I have booked cabin 7378 on the 6/18 sailing-on the deck plan for deck 7, there is a huge blank space right in front of my cabin??? Any ideas on what might be lurking back there-its a pretty big empty space.
wrp96 Posted November 17, 2005 #24 Share Posted November 17, 2005 That spot looks like it will be the area where the crew elevators/stairs are, as well as the storage rooms for the items the room stewards use.
Schplinky Posted November 17, 2005 Author #25 Share Posted November 17, 2005 I agree. We were next door to one of those spots on Navigator and never heard any noise.
