If you're looking to change your cruise, two friends and I (3 girls ages 24-26) are cruising on the Breakaway in April! We'll let you know what the singles crowd is like ;)

Me and 3 of my buddies (between the ages of 25-35) are going on the Breakaway in July to Bermuda for a week. We're looking to relax, party and basically have a good time with other girls around the same age. Will the Breakaway around that time be fun? Thanks!

My advice: stick with Breakaway and come to Bermuda.

You didn't say which week in July, but the week of 30 July you might run into a bit of difficulties. Wed Aug 2 is okay but Bermuda has public holiday on Thurs & Fri Aug 2 + 3. These are called Cup Match holidays where East End (St. George's, colours light blue and blue) and West End (Somerset, colours red and blue) play against each other in cricket over the 2 days. There is a real party atmosphere - and it's known that tourists who are willing to go for it and do not care for heat and humidity really have a ball of a time at the venue. Gambling is allowed legally on those 2 days - Crown & Anchor - and booze is involved. The Bermudians love those 2 days and would go all means to have great time there.

Google cricket (if you don't know the game), Crown & Anchor (if you don't know the game and like to gamble. The minimum bet is $5, so bring a lot of $5 bills (US$5 will do)) and Cup Match Bermuda.

Since this year's Cup Match takes place in St. George's (not in Somerset) I would suggest you all grab a taxi (if you don't mind spending money like $30-50 pp on taxi fare, but ask the driver) for a scenic route to Wellington Park in St. George's and drop you off at the Cup Match cricket grounds - ON THE FIRST DAY - THURSAY.

There are plenty of local foods on sale there plus booze. It is an amazing experience.

We don't go to Cup Match a lot but last year 2016 we went on the Thursday and spent 2.5 hours there - we had fun! Don't forget we are no spring chickens - my DH is retired and I'm in my late 50's. I won money in Crown & Anchor :) my tip is to bet on TWO different squares each time ... and put bet back on square that you just lost and place bet on different square from the one you just won the bet.

The Friday has far more people flocking to the venue and it's best that you don't go there due to the ship's early departure time.

Cheers.

P.S. doesn't matter what week you sail as 4000+ is a lot of people and you'll always find crowd to hang with. One thing though, the more kids means more families which in turn less people in casinos :)

I was just simply wondering if anyone with cruise experience noticed if that this cruise was basically just mainly families or also mixed in with groups such as ours. Nothing dirty or anything like that so please don't mislead this thread. Thank you

All cruises are mixed crowds, especially when there are 4000 people on board. You will have a great time no matter what. Our last time on Breakaway we hooked up with a newlywed couple in their late 20's, a couple mid 30's and one in their mid 40's. We were mid 50's and we hung out the whole cruise and had a blast.
