conquesodor Posted February 27, 2017 #1 Share Posted February 27, 2017 We're considering a cruise for our older daughter's 21st birthday, which would also involve bringing her 16 year old sister (at time of sailing). I think they would both like the X-Club area for the video games and such, but isn't this area technically reserved for "teens" only? Or can anyone stop by to play if they are interested? Thanks! spookwife Posted February 27, 2017 #2 Share Posted February 27, 2017 once they are 18 they are no longer eligible for any of the teen areas or to participation in any youth activities. this is true across the board on all cruise lines. any video arcade on board, however is open to all( and at a fee per game of course)
conquesodor Posted February 27, 2017 Author #3 Share Posted February 27, 2017 I'm specifically curious about the area they have the x-box consoles set up for play. Do they actually restrict access to the room / x-box games unless you are a teen? I've walked into that room before when I've been exploring the ship and not found a single soul - teen or adult - in there.

I've walked into that room before when I've been exploring the ship and not found a single soul - teen or adult - in there. It's for teens only up to 17yrs. There is usually a notice on the door stipulating it's for teens and no adult admittance ;). The staff come to the door if you need to speak with one of your children in the club ;). If you were exploring the ship when you first boarded, you probably stumbled across the room prior to the club actually being started on the evening of embarkation. conquesodor Posted February 27, 2017 Author #5 Share Posted February 27, 2017 Thanks for the feedback. I understand those are the rules. Has anyone ever asked onboard to have an exception made? If so, what happened? While I'm sure there are reasons for the age cutoff, it's just a shame that siblings couldn't hang out together and play xbox while onboard. Many of the teens 'hang out' together and meet at various points throughout the ship, so that wouldn't be a problem. Personally though, it's very doubtful staff would break the rules and allow adults (those 18 and over) into the teen room because it could cost them their jobs (especially as it's posted on the door of the Xclub). However, I recall on the dailies that X provide the use of an Xbox/Wii at various times for all to use. Think it was in Celebrity Central or Quasar. bluemoonrising Posted February 27, 2017 #7 Share Posted February 27, 2017 Personally, I wouldn't be encouraging my children, two boys of 17 and 20 (21st birthday, whilst onboard on our forthcoming April trip) into x-box.....they festor long enough on the thing at home. Last year on our two week Caribbean trip, they had a mavoulous time and socialised daily with other youths on board, mainly USA/Canadians. Either, yes.... talking....playing cards, chilling in the jacuzzi or playing football, volley ball and occasionally attending the shows with their new friends. A lot like I did on family vacations when I was young....before the internet took over.
