The two forts! Long uphill walk or crowded free trolley, or short taxi ride. Bring or buy a small kite to fly at El Morro.

 

Then find a vendor in one of the plazas for a piragua (flavored shaved ice). You'll see then in little wheeled yellow/red carts.

Most of the ships have an excursion to the El Yunque rainforest to see the monkeys. I would either do this or visit the El Morro fort. You can see a beach at another port, but you won't get a chance to see blue cobblestones anywhere else!

Monkeys?? Surely you must have confused Puerto Rico with St. Kitts. I have never seen monkeys in El Yunque and outside the Lajas valley on the south-west part of the island (where there is a small, wild community of them). You can maybe seePuerto Rican parrots at El Yunque. Maybe...lol!!
