Carnival Freedom and cigarette smoke

This is an issue that I know won't be a problem for everyone, but it sure was for us and I haven't seen it mentioned before. The Freedom allows smoking in the casino. This sounds like an OK place for smoking, but unfortunately the casino is an open area close to elevators and the open, multi-level atrium. The smell of the 2nd hand smoke can be smelled up to deck 8 and across the entire mid section of the ship. If you are sensitive to cigarette smoke you might want to find another ship.

We had the same problem on the Oasis. The elevator atrium funneled the smoke all the way up like a chimney.

I noticed this, too. But I thought maybe smoking was allowed in all the casinos? I could smell smoke in the hallways on deck 1

All casinos have smoking sections not only the Freedom and not only on Carnival. I'm impressed that you walked around the ship to find out how far the smoke travelled.

It is the same in almost all ships.

Freedom was no different than Triumph or Elation for me when it comes to that...but I don't notice smoke unless I'm in the casino.

Celebrity does not allow smoking in the casino.
