Caribbean princess redirected to pier 21 at port everglades

We just got notice tonight of the change of pier for disembarking. Will it be harder to get a taxi or uber there instead of pier 2? Also, is this change due to too many ships in port on Sunday?

No problem with Pier 21. We have used it a number of times on Island Princess. There are loads of taxis and it is actually nearer to the airport.

There will be taxi line right at terminal 21 so no problem upon disembarkation. It was probably changed because the Regal or the Royal is in port at the same time and those ships get priority at terminal 2. We've embarked and disembarked other Princess ships at terminal 21 before under those circumstances.

 

If anyone reading this post is boarding Caribbean Princess at terminal 21 (as you are disembarking) allow yourself a few extra minutes because now you will need to go through port security to get to terminal 21 (terminals 2 and 4 are before port security). Make sure each passenger has their documentation (boarding pass, ID) handy since you will need to show that to the security officers.

Ports 21, 22, 24, 25, and 26 are all next to each other as cruise ship terminals. You should no problem getting a taxi, Uber, Lyft, or shuttle. Princess is owned by Carnival which has several terminals at Port Everglades so it wouldn't be surprising if another ship was scheduled at 2
