We've done it on BA but it's been a couple years. You meet in the Haven area, they take you down the crew elevators forward, and you "cut" in line in front of the other lines disembarking.

Thanks, is it a window of time or a one off slot?

We gathered in the Haven on Sunday the 19th of March around 8:15 and shortly thereafter Anoop (concierge) took groups down a service elevator right off the Haven on deck 16. We exited into the theatre and then out the gangway. Walked into terminal and told to NOT WAIT IN ANY LINE... We showed our Haven Cards... Rope lines dropped and we walked by a thousand or two passengers cued up on our left. We were walked to the Haven bags... Grabbed quickly and directed to what seemed like a dedicated customs officer. Stamp stamp... Boom out literally as fast as we could walk.

AWESOME!!!

You pay for the perk. Both in $$$ and major (and justified) stink eye from those lined up to leave as you stroll by.

The taxi chaos once out of the terminal was another thing. We should have looked into how to get to level two of the terminal once we left customs and exited to the street.

Ditto what Bulldog said. We sent our luggage with the Haven priority tags, walked off around 8:30am and were in our car at 9:18am...after digging out the snow around it :)

We too had awful looks from people in line, but a quick "where is the Haven line" question to staff and a flash of our haven cards bypassed everything. We even ended up in the porter line for customs. Easiest disembarkation and one of the main reasons we will pay for the haven on breakaway.

Technically neither of you used the "easy walk off process", because you had tagged your bags, set them outside your cabin the night before disembarkation and then retrieved them in the terminal. "Easy walk off" is the process that has you take all your bags with you on disembarkation day.

It usually doesn't make a heck of a lot of difference for Haven passengers because you get to bypass lines either way, but on some days there will be a significant time difference between when passengers who are doing easy walk off can disembark and when passengers who can retrieve their luggage can disembark. That largely got erased this past Sunday because the ship docked early, allowing easy walk off to start early, bags to be placed out on the pier for retrieval early and thus regular disembarkation to start earlier than usual. On some past cruises on BA we have had to cool our heels with a mob of other Haven passengers in the lounge awaiting clearance for the non-easy walk off disembarkation while Haven (and other) easy walk off passengers disembarked much earlier.

Interesting. On the 3/5 BA sailing, Anoop the concierge informed Haven guests that he would escort us to the disembarkation area between 9-11:30am. We were non-easy-walk, and he escorted us down at 9:30am, and joined the rest of the passengers (who appeared to be easy-walk as they had all their luggage) departing the ship on the gangway to the pier. Once we were on the pier, we were able to bypass the long lines of easy-walk passengers the rest of the way, collecting our baggage en route. We didn't have to wait for separate non-easy walk disembarkation clearance to leave. Don't know if the BA had arrived early on 3/12, but Anoop had given us our instructions the day before so it wasn't as though we were allowed to leave earlier at the last minute.

Instructions from Anoop this week were much different than you described. Easy walk off Haven passengers were told to meet in the Haven lounge earlier than the meeting time for standard disembarkation Haven passengers. He also had a cut off time of 9:45 for Haven standard escorted disembarkation.

However, the whole ship started disembarking earlier than planned because it arrived somewhat early and was cleared for disembarkation by CBP at an earlier than expected.

This was my fifth BA cruise (third in the BA Haven) and I don't ever recall the Haven instructions being as you described. In every case the Haven walk off passengers were given an earlier time to meet in the Haven lounge than the time given the Haven standard disembarkation passengers.

Thanks everyone for your replies, now thinking we will eave our bags out night before based on your feedback will be off at the same time as easy walk off without the hassle of lugging x2 23kg case!!

Thanks again.

No, you can't be sure you'll be able to get off at the same time as easy walk off passengers, which means you may not make your 9 am desired disembarkation time. To give you even more details of our disembarkation on Sunday, we got caught in a "hold" imposed by CBP, where no additional passengers were allowed into the terminal regardless of what type of special priority you have. This happens all the time on BA because the cruise pier doesn't have the facilities to handle so many passengers and CBP often doesn't fully staff the customs stations. If it's really necessary for you to be out of the terminal by 9 you better do the easy walk off. This week we didn't get to our car until close to 10, even with being in the Haven and hiring a porter in the terminal, which ensures the quickest trip through customs.

What I posted was based on my March 12 disembarkation on the BA experience, which was different from yours which is why I shared it.

I would suggest woodards speak with Anoop or whoever the head concierge is on the BA during their sailing to find out the best way for them to disembark to ensure they're at the pier exit when they need to be.
