iConcierge texting on Epic

Does anyone have recent experience with text messaging through iConcierge on the Epic?

 

We gave used it previously on Getaway and Escape with mixed results.

Works fine. The odd glitch that refreshing the app sorted. It worked a lot better for us than it did on The Escape.

The website says there's a small set-up fee to begin using iconcierge on board. Do you have an approximate cost for it? Thanks!

Used it less than a month ago. Worked great. If you have used it before my recommendation is to delete the app from the last cruise and then download it again.

 

I have an android and it was giving me a bit of issues letting me add the current cruise. Once I did that it was perfect.

 

I was even able to call the rooms through the app. I believe we paid 9.95 for it.

I would agree with this. I think my issues on The Escape came from the fact I had used it on The Epic previously.

The Epic did a major dry dock a little over a year ago where much of the wifi infrastructure was refreshed. Iconcerge worked fine.

Is this app used for texting your family if they are in other areas of the ship? If so, is there a delay? Or is it fairly quick? Thank you!

We used it for messaging and calling each other while onboard the Epic last week. We all had to pay $9.99 each to do this but it worked really well.

It makes sense to download the iConcierge app before boarding, but Is it possible to register your phones before boarding, or must you register when aboard?

You have to register your phones when you get aboard.

You get a pin number through your cabin's tv and enter it into the app to register.

 

Didn't use the texting feature but did use the phone service to call home.

Only had issues one time and called the kids every night to check in.

The rates were great (rates varied from 12 to 19 cents per minute).

We only installed on my wife's phone and the cost was $9.99...well worth it.
