Why do you love Celebrity?

All that is very true, however, to those who are sensitive to smoke (like I am) it is very unpleasant. On our last Royal cruise in 2014 (which will remain our last until/unless the smoking policy changes) on the Legend, the casino was so smoky that I not only couldn't use it AT ALL, I also could not walk through it. We had to go up or down a deck to go from the MDR to the theater. On some nights we couldn't even enjoy the show because the excess smoke from the casino drifted into the theater. It is not the smell I object to, it is the sore throat that I get from inhaling the second hand smoke. I know that everyone is not as sensitive as I am, however for folks like me it is wonderful to be able to use the casino and walk through it, or near it without our throats suffering.

We agree. We are not big gamblers, but it's nice to spend a few hours in the casino now and then without trying to avoid second-hand smoke.

I have never been on Celebrity, going on Sunday. Would like to hear some of the best things!

I never thought I would like cruising, but years ago my wife convinced me to go on one. That was on the Celebrity Mercury many years ago. I have never looked back.

We have cruised on Celebrity, Princess and Costa and Celebrity wins hands down.

In a nutshell, the top notch food, the ports they choose, great incentive packages and great staff. And I am partial to the Martini Bar.

Our first X cruise was also on the Mercury (we saw her last year in St. Maarten) as we also have never looked back, except for my previously mentioned Royal Caribbean sailing on the Legend. The food in the MDR and OVC and specialties is much more to our liking, and the service is IMHO far and away above Royal. We also enjoy the little touches like the chilled towels and drinks when returning from hot days in port, hand rolled towels in the rest rooms, not having to sign out towels for port day (towels seem to be a theme here!). Although some on here decry that there have been service cuts over the last few years we have never found it lacking. We love the pampered feeling X gives us. The layout of the buffet is better and the specialty restaurants, especially Murano on the S-class ships, is head over heals above anything we've experienced on Royal. We are retired, but very active, and appreciate the fact the X seems to cater more to our demographic without being too stuffy. I love my grandchildren and love spending as much time as possible with them, but when on vacations without them we enjoy a ship without the children of others. (Sorry, don't mean to sound grouchy)
