Sun Lover Posted April 1, 2017 #1 Share Posted April 1, 2017 I see now that Oasis is leaving out of Port Canaveral. Is the closest airport Orlando? How far of a drive is it to the port and is it best to just rent a car or are there shuttles at all from the airport to the port? Thanks.

One-way car rentals are popular, especially if you are arriving the day before the cruise. There are a number of rental agencies near the port that have free shuttles to the cruise terminal. There are also shuttles. Commonly mentioned are Cortrans, Cocoa Beach Shuttle, and Travelynx.
matj2000 Posted April 1, 2017 #3 Share Posted April 1, 2017 Do a basic web search to find shuttles......

We used this company roundtrip for our family cruise of 10 persons on the Freedom from Port Canaveral from Orlando airport. http://www.port-canaveral-transportation.net Very reliable. Driver was waiting at airport with sign and met us at ship on time upon disembarking.
iahawkfan21 Posted April 1, 2017 #5 Share Posted April 1, 2017 From Orlando International, its roughly 45 minutes straight east on 528, very easy drive. I would recommend one way car rentals. Most of the major agencies are in the port or within a couple miles and provide free shuttles to/from the ship after dropping off the rental. They'll also be waiting on return if you're picking up a rental to head back.
Desert Cruizers Posted April 1, 2017 #6 Share Posted April 1, 2017 We are looking into using Cocoa Beach Shuttle From MCO to Hotel and possible Hotel to Cruise Terminal, but renting a car Post cruise so we can visit DW then return car the afternoon before our flight home and use the Hotel shuttle back to MCO. Friends we are sailing with Next April will be at the Homewood Suites. We are still planning things out right now.
MM27 Posted April 1, 2017 #7 Share Posted April 1, 2017 Highly recommend Cortrans. They were awesome when I used them in August. I always used the cruise lines shuttle bus but Royal Caribbean wouldn't allow me to book on the way home because my flight was before noon. I would never use them again now that I know about Cortrans. They were on time, staff was friendly, all around great experience Sent from my iPad using Forums
