can grandparents take grandchildren off ship in port ?

we have cruised many times, but first as whole family with grandkids. Our daughters and husbands will be taking catamaran excursion in Falmouth. Will we be allowed to take grandchildren off ship to buy souvenirs and maybe swim at Margaritaville ? If we leave ship with parents can we take them back without the parents ? Please advise...thanks😃

Yea all you need is there sea pass. We asked when we cruised and they said as long as you have their sea pass anyone can take the kids on and off the ship

Our grandkids where detained by port police until the ship got in touch with their parents who stayed on the ship. Port police wanted proof of US citizenship. SIL came down to the port checkpoint with the paperwork. My advice is to have a permission letter to travel along with docs.

We took my little cousin off without any issues. Didn't even think of it until we were in line to get off the ship, and that's when we started to worry that we wouldn't be able to take her off.(we were meeting her parents off the ship as they had to go back to the room to grab their bag)......

 

My cousin handed her seapass card to the worker and much to our surprise said, "Don't worry, these aren't my parents but they aren't kidnapping me. These are my cousins, aunt and uncle"

 

Luckily I don't think the man understood what she was saying and we continued leaving the ship, laughing hysterically along the way:'):')

Bermuda ! We have taken the grands off and on the ship many times over the last few years and never had a issue, just Bermuda.

Now that I think about it. It happened another time also. Once in Canada and again in Bermuda.
