We play trivia and the other games, but we don't want any of the plastic shiponastick trophies. Just dust collectors to us. We have other ways to remember our cruises. SAS cards. Photos.

I don't know what it is about those things, but man oh man, my son and I go to what seems like EVERY trivia contest they have, trying so hard to win a ship on a stick...but we just never are able! We came close once: It was my strongest subject: 80's music name that tune. (I'm darn good if I do say so myself.) I think there were 20 or 30 songs, and I only missed ONE!!! But wouldn't you know it, there, of course, was a team who got them all correct. (or at least they SAY they did). I think they cheated. It was a group of 4 much younger adults, and they were all drunk. It was just my son and me, and then some other more mellow teams. Honest to God, I really did know all of them but one song. UGH!! Darn!!

Truth be told, I wanted to cheat so my son could have the ship, but I didn't. Some of the songs were hard, too!!! My son was so bummed out. In the future, I would love to team up with another group of 2 or 4, but if we were to win, who would get THE SHIP?!?!

Sometimes it depends on the team member presiding over the game. I've had Carnival staff give out more medals if there are little kids playing, too. Some staff are really loose with the toy ships and some play more by the "rules." The easiest way to get a medal is to play when the ships in port. There's hardly anyone playing the game so your chances are much higher to win [emoji6]

Hey whats the current ratio of medals to Ships on sticks. In the past it was 2 medals traded in for a ship on stick. Now it's 3 medals for a ship on a stick... Being Platnium & having only 2 boats in Australia; they don't change the questions so much. So i win 2 or 3 trivia quizes each cruise & let others win even though i know the answers. Love the sing-a-longs on Music trivia. Lol

I was going through boxes & found a 1996 Carnival brochure catalog here recently. Anyone want to cruise on the Tropicale? Festivale? Anyone? Lol!

The Festivale was our very first cruise. We were hooked. Had the best time, did everything , midnight buffet, mini midnight buffet, closed down the casino several nights, up at the crack of dawn, didn't want to miss a thing!!:D

I also love my "solid gold-plastic piece of ship on a stick." But my photos are even better! The last few cruises I immediately uploaded to Walgreens all the photos and made one of their photo albums. Much quicker than doing it on my own, and I could add text to it. I wish I had started doing it years ago, as we take the pictures but don't do anything with them....one day I will go back and do it for previous cruises. Probably the same year I clean out all my closets, the cabinets and the garage. Lol

That's funny. Not usually a trivia person, but seems like I'm always drawn to those games on the ship. So far was lucky enough to win four ships. 3 for karaoke and one for trivia. Of course got lucky on trivia. Teamed up with a B2B team that knew the answers and they let me have the ship on a stick.

This time I'm with a group of 6. Me, my wife, my son and his girlfriend, and my in-laws (lucky me lol)

Hopefully makes our odds better to win.
