We tried getting an OBC a couple months ago and were told we didn't qualify because one of our "free at sea" benefits was free gratuities. Does anyone know if that excludes me from this promo as well?

It probably means that you would have to give up the free gratuities promo as it's not a current promo being offered. In order to take advantage of new promos you have to be willing to give up old promos that are no longer offered at the time of the change.

We're booked in a Suite on the Pearl for August and already had $100 obc. I called my NCL Cruise Consultant today to see if I could take advantage of this offer.

She said I can get an additional $200 obc but I would have to make my final payment by tomorrow afternoon. This is 19 days before it's due. I have no problems paying early since I already had the money set aside and I can make $200. Done deal.

Would I be eligible for the onboard credit if my cruise is before final payment date ,and is one of the cruises applicable to the promotion, but my category is currently sold out?

I was not able to get any credit added for my sailing because our category is sold out.

I also did a mock reservation for our January 7th Dawn cruise out of San Juan and the promo is available for our suite with no price increase. Must I go thru my TA(she's always super busy)or can I just call NCL? The category is not sold out.

I'm 99.9% sure you need to go through TA.

I also tried a mock reservation for my Escape cruise, 7/1/18, and my price is the same and the $100 promotion is available for my balcony cabin (angled balcony cabin).

I just sent an email to my TA and expect the obc to be added without issue.

Cruise price remained the same (had booked a suite) but they wanted the full deposit of $1500.00 to do it, lost the first $100.00 in OBC to get the $300.00 of OBC they are now offering...I had used a "cruise next" certificate along with another $550.00 to total $800.00 as my deposit, to get the additional OBC I had to re-book and pay an additional $700.00 towards my deposit making it a full $1500.000 to get the new Promo...NCL has become something/s that I am not sure I want to deal with after this cruise...???

Have a great day...

I also did a mock reservation and the OBC was included in the total.

I called NCL to see if it could be added to my reservation. Unfortunately I am past my final payment date by one week and didn't qualify.

I would have blown it in the casino anyways so not a big deal.

I was looking at cruises on NCL last week and found the cruise I've been looking at had dropped in price and had $100. onboard booking credit for a BD CAT. for a 10 day cruise for the 2 of us. I signed into our Latitudes acct. and $100. more dollars was added on along with 2 perks. I emailed my travel agent that I use and as usual she gave us a discounted rate and the quote had $100.OBC. I told her that NCL has a $200. OBC on the reservation. I took a screen shot of it and emailed her. She said that the best thing to do was to book the cruise with NCL and she could then take it over. She faxed NCL and did take it over and the receipt still only says $100. OBC, but my NCL reservation on their site says $200. This all happened tonight, so I didn't get to check with her which I will do tomorrow. Has anyone ever run into this?

This was all under the Latutudes special that ends on the 30th of April, which I assume this is what everyones talking about here.

You should have $200 OBC. $100 for the Latitude special that your cruise qualifies for and $100 for the Balcony and above special promotion going on now. Even though you are booked with a travel agent you can call NCL direct and request a copy of your amenity confirmation - - it will list your promo perks and the OBC amounts.

Thanks for replying and re-assuring me. I was able to go into my NCL account and it does show the $200. I just did email my TA so that she corrects in on her invoice. This is the 2nd time I had to correct her. She put the wrong cabin number on the invoice.

I will stop back here and let you know.

Thank you all for the heads up… Called my TA and I actually did a three-way call with Norwegian and was able to get an additional $300 of OBC without any changes to our sweet, pricing, or reservation. I hope all of you are able to take advantage of this as well.

Four days ago I called and got the credit added for two rooms reserved for next year. $140 for the minisuite and $300 for the Haven. Today, only a few days later guess how much the room price has suddenly risen.

$120 and $300.

How close was your guess?

Would you still be eligible for this promotion if the stateroom category you booked went up in price even if you are before final payment?

Sure, but you'd have to pay the higher price and for us it was a wash because our balcony cabin went almost the amount of the OBC bonus so there was no point.

Has anyone who booked with CAS tried to get the OBC?

We very recently booked through CAS for a cruise on the Escape this August - phoned CAS and got the OBC credit added with no problem. As long as you are before final payment - you should have no issues getting this obc added whether you are with CAS or not.

We also booked a cruise to Asia in 2018 (this cruise was booked quite awhile ago) - we could have gotten this obc perk added to this cruise too but passed because when we first booked this cruise one of the perks was "prepaid DSC" (daily service charge) - would have lost this perk as it is not currently being offered.

Depending on when you booked, the obc may not be worth it. Just have to keep that in mind!

Thanks, deefer!

You are right, as it turns out our "prepaid DSC" perk is worth more than the OBC offered.
