Clothing alterations, repairs, etc. aboard QM2

I emailed an inquiry to Cunard regarding availability of clothing alterations and repairs, etc, as I may need to have a sleeve shortened.

 

I post their response should anyone else find it useful as well .

Thank you for posting that as I've not been previously aware of any garment mending/alteration services on QM2. It's good to know because things happen.

It is interesting the waist adjustment is available. I wonder if, on longer cruises, there is any call for taking in the waist!:D

I wish I had known about the button replacement a couple of trips ago...

A button came off my husband's blazer when it went to the laundry. The seamstress came to our cabin with a tin full of possible replacements. None of them was suitable, but there is a great button shop in Sydney where we were able to find the exact button we needed. We bought a few spares, and the seamstress sewed on the new button, and sewed in the spares lest a button go astray again. I was very impressed with her services.

I have often used the tailor or seamstress to shorten dresses or make slight adjustments. They are very neat, prompt and pretty inexpensive too.
