Kid Program

To the contrary. Dry dock upgrades are expanding the kid's venues and programs. Shifting demographics toward family cruising demand this. Take a look at the Princess website information on the recent changes to the Caribbean Princess to see where this trend is heading.

That said, on any individual cruise where there aren't many children, the kid's programs can and do get cut. That might have been the case with the review you read.

Is Princess Cruise cutting back on the kid programs? I booked with Royal Princess this summer and somebody wrote in their recent review that they cut their kids program.

Is there any info on this? Thanks!

Take a look at the below announcement and information from Princess. Princess is making an effort to attract more youth.

Last month on our Crown Princess cruise I was speaking with the Hotel Manager. She said there is always at least one youth staff member on board. On our cruise with just a few children the staff member was helping with other passenger services paperwork.

So the kid club was closed and there were no activities for them during the cruise?

No it was open. There were 5 maybe as many as 10 children on the cruise, some of them very young, in strollers. The paperwork I mentioned previously was probably done in the youth center when no children were there.

If you're sailing during the summer, there should be many families with kids on board and they should run the full program. We sailed on the Regal (the Royal's sister ship) last summer and the kids' clubs were always busy.
