Looking for opinions about this hotel for one night precruise. We won't have a car but they apparently will shuttle guests within 2 miles to a restaurant. Anyone stayed there recently and where did you go for dinner?

Thanks

Our go to place when we fly into MIA late and just want dinner and a room. Shopping center with grocery, drug and liquor stores is a 5+ min walk -- it also offers Cuban (good), Chinese, and Italian dining options. 94th Aero Squadron is back a bit toward the airport - great steaks and prime rib, but a bit pricey.

Hotel includes a great breakfast, okay happy hour, and a nice, but small pool area. Taxi to POM was about $30 - so UberX should be just under $20

Have a great cruise!

We stayed here last March pre and post cruise. The first night we ordered in Cuban from a restaurant recommended by the front desk. After the cruise we ordered pizza, again using the front desks recommendation. We had a large group so used their shuttle both directions. It was fine getting to the ship, but we had a long wait to return to the hotel.

We have stayed at the Hampton Inn Blue Lagoon (not Homewood) four times pre-cruise. This is a decent area to walk around. In addition to the Cuban restaurant we have also enjoyed sandwiches and salads from the Deli inside the Publix. Both restaurant and Publix are right across the street and easy to walk to. Free shuttle from the airport. Also Hampton Inn has a decent free breakfast and you can sign up for a shuttle to the pier for $10 per person.
