RevCindy Posted May 10, 2017 #1 Share Posted May 10, 2017 Going on our first cruise in November on the Jade. Our first port, after a day at sea, is Puerto Rico. Scheduled to arrive at 3pm. Is scheduling an excursion for 4pm cutting it too close? How on time are these ships? Thanks!
triptolemus Posted May 10, 2017 #2 Share Posted May 10, 2017 They are often early, absent any severe weather or mechanical issues (very rare).
garycarla Posted May 10, 2017 #3 Share Posted May 10, 2017 As said, usually on time if not a bit early. The only time it might be an issue is when they have to anchor and take shuttle boats ashore. That can get crazy.
Quilting_Cruiser Posted May 10, 2017 #4 Share Posted May 10, 2017 In all the cruises I've been on (16 or so) I've arrived late to port only once. :D I wouldn't worry about your tour--vendors are generally pretty flexible when it comes to the ship's arrival. I've arranged a lot of private tours and they're aware you may not be able to get off the ship immediately.
cb at sea Posted May 11, 2017 #5 Share Posted May 11, 2017 You will be fine...it's a "walk off" port. No worries!
Rare uneamie Posted May 11, 2017 #6 Share Posted May 11, 2017 Actually the REAL issue would be.......making sure YOU are not late for sailaway.
