As far as I know, only Disney ever had a license to shoot off fireworks from their ships.

NCL Breakaway has a firework show on the Fri night we left Bermuda

We did a 7 night Bahamas trip on Anthem in April. On the last night, they did a virtual fireworks show on the screens in 270. They said they did it for New Years Eve and everyone enjoyed it so much that they now do it on every cruise. At least that was the case as of two months ago.
