claudiaYVR Posted June 12, 2017 #1 Share Posted June 12, 2017 Hello, The deck plans show a widening of the balcony/deck area in the aft section of Deck 7. Can someone tell me what difference if any this makes? Are the balconies deeper for these cabins? Also, are there any balcony cabins on Riviera that have any obstructions or anything else I should be aware of, particularly if I go for a B guarantee? Many thanks for your help. claudiaYVR Posted June 12, 2017 Author #3 Share Posted June 12, 2017 Thanks ORV, is there a disadvantage in booking those cabins if you don't mind the aft location?
Rare LHT28 Posted June 12, 2017 #4 Share Posted June 12, 2017 Yes the extended balconies are deeper maybe 12 ft from door to railing Some of the end ones like 7108 are open on the side as well as the side Put the cabin number into the search & you will find some photos You will be overlooked but if that is not a problem for you go for it 7114

Rare ORV Posted June 12, 2017 #6 Share Posted June 12, 2017 There are also some near the bow section check the deck plan for cabin numbers There were some of those available on the TA on Marina that we are going on in Dec, but I felt like they are too far forward for a TA that can be unpredictable on the weather. I opted for a standard balcony more centrally placed on deck 7. Usually we will go for the larger balcony.

I was just pointing out that there are some extended balcony cabins forward It is up to you if you want to book them I prefer the aft section myself To each his/her own
dingsterkat Posted June 12, 2017 #8 Share Posted June 12, 2017 On my last cruise our 8th deck balcony overlooked the 7th floor extension. While 7th floor was quite big I wouldn't have liked the exposure. I wear my pjs on the balcony for breakfast but don't need others checking them out necessarily. I don't really care about passing ships but the 7th floor was so... close! Sent from my iPad using Forums
stevec999 Posted June 13, 2017 #9 Share Posted June 13, 2017 We were in 7006 on the Riviera last January. Our travel agent suggested the cabin because of the large balcony. We had two chairs and a small table along with two lounge chairs. These are listed as B3s. We really enjoyed the large balcony and wouldn't hesitate to book again. The motion of the ship does not bother us but I am sure you will feel it more in the forward cabins when compared to midship.
