timkatmom Posted June 25, 2017 #1 Share Posted June 25, 2017 I have never sailed Celebrity, but am going to book a cruise next June on the Eclipse. Very strange-the pirces on Celebrity's website are WAY higher than sites like *************. Not even close..Anybody know a good site to get a good deal? gold1953 Posted June 25, 2017 #2 Share Posted June 25, 2017 I have found that some TAs do not include some basics in the price so when I have called the end cost has been the same as celebrity
deliver42 Posted June 25, 2017 #3 Share Posted June 25, 2017 I haven't found any of the on line TA's to be any better pricewise the Celebrity. Maybe a small OBC, but to me it isn't worth it.
eandj Posted June 25, 2017 #4 Share Posted June 25, 2017 (edited) After our first X cruise 17 years ago, we have never booked one directly with Celebrity again. Even if "booking" while on board for a future cruise, we call our TA (web based) for our "real " cost and transfer the booking to him when we get home. Example....every year we do the 2 week Carib. Eclipse in January. This year our TA'S final costs were $500 less than our quote onboard... as well as an additional $150 obc on top of Celebrity's $100 Captains Club obc, bev and gratuity perks. And we are talking a verandah room. (not suite) Our last Med Cruise, the rates we paid were close to $800 less. Not sure why shopping around wouldn't be "worth it". So yes, it PAYS to shop around for a (most often) large agency that buys in big quantity with that cruiseline. They can offer more and often have group rates they are willing to offer. We actually have one agent for Celebrity and one agent for any other lines. Learned from experience and loyalty that some agents can do better on Princess/Celebrity/HAL than others. Don't let anyone tell you that you can't save a good chunk of money. No need to be satisfied with X's rates or with a TA that offers a bottle of wine as your thank you "reward".
