If not does anyone have anywhere they would recommend besides the atlantis? We have two daughters 9 and 7yrs old. THANKS! This was posted last week on the TripAdvisor site. Response from GrandHyattBahaMar | Property representative | : Thank you for your question. We do not have day passes available for cruise ship passengers at this time. We hope to welcome you as a guest in the near future.
Boston Mom Posted June 29, 2017 #3 Share Posted June 29, 2017 Scubagirl is correct - I actually called Baha Mar Guest Services a few weeks ago and was told that they are not doing any day passes, at least through 2017.

26.2runner Posted September 15, 2017 #5 Share Posted September 15, 2017 Oh my ..... this resort looks INCREDIBLE!!!! Our cab driver told us about this resort 2 years ago when we ported in Miami for a cruise. We could not believe it was not open, and what a scandal as to why it was not open!! Such a shame! I wonder if cruise passengers could book a room here for the day?? I know you mentioned they do not do day passes. I am assuming check in is not until 3 pm, and that would not work for most cruisers! On the Sunshine, I think they get to Nassau at 12 pm and leave at 10 pm, on a couple of cruises. So, that may be an option for some?? This resort would be worth booking and flying in for a quick getaway!! Anyway, just wondering if the casino is open to the public. Does anyone know?? I sure would love a peek at this resort. Playing in the casino would be amazing too!! Happy Sailing everyone!!!
Jnn61144 Posted September 15, 2017 #6 Share Posted September 15, 2017 I messaged them on facebook regarding a day pass and this is there response to me: We do not offer day passes at this time. However, all guests can visit our shops, restaurants, casino, tennis courts, and golf course.
shibby sails Posted September 18, 2017 #7 Share Posted September 18, 2017 Checked room rates and the cheapest is around $400 a day. Thought they would try and lure people away from Atlantis with cheaper room prices but the resort is 5 star and will attract the high rollers. It is beautiful and worth going to see and walking around the casino but you cannot access the beach or pool areas.
jakesnana Posted October 6, 2017 #8 Share Posted October 6, 2017 Where is the Baha Mar in relation to where the ship docks? Will a taxi be necessary? We are going to Nassau on a last minute cruise and I've already been there/done that several times over so I thought I would check this out. BNBR Posted October 6, 2017 #9 Share Posted October 6, 2017 (edited) Baha Mar is on cable beach and not close enough to walk. You would need a taxi. Just note that Baha Mar is pretty cool, but will be very limited if you aren't planning on gambling. It's still under construction. It's biggest draw is the pool/beach areas of which you won't be able to use and they don't sell guest passes. Much of the cool stuff that will be opening, near the fountains in front, etc... all that stuff isn't open yet. You'll be disappointed visiting Baha Mar for anything other than the casino at the moment. You can, however, get a day pass to the Melia which is essentially next door. Then walk over and check out Baha Mar, then walk back. You could even walk down the beach to Baha Mar from Melia if you wanted but it's hit or miss if the security person standing by the entrance from the beach to the pool areas will let you pass through. Usually they don't check but never know... Another option is getting a room for the day. But that's going to be pricey and won't include any dining, just pool/beach access. However, you do get access to kayaks, snorkel gear, loungers, umbrella, water toys, etc. all included with the hotel room at no extra charge. The pools are incredible... I can't even put that into words. Especially the blue lagoon pool with the jumping rocks and huge swim up aquarium habitat in the cave. When you think of the cost of a Cabana at $500 for the day on the private island experiences, maybe the $300 for Baha Mar room isn't all that outrageous considering the amenities you get for the day. Up to you to decide :) Maybe this is what I'll do next time... Just checked... you can get a room this weekend, for example. for $213. 4 people, that's cheaper than almost any beach excursion and you get so much more. This might be a new thing to do for Nassau cruisers! Edited October 6, 2017 by BNBR
jakesnana Posted October 7, 2017 #10 Share Posted October 7, 2017 Thanks, we will be there on Tuesday, I will check to see what the rate is for that date. I wonder if they will allow us to "check-in" at 9:00 AM? We're in port from 8 till 5, so if they do not allow us to check in early it would be a deal breaker. I've had luck just asking for first available. But you can definitely check in as far as getting a card and access to pools/beach.

Could you get two day passes for an overnight stay - the day you arrive and the day you leave, like Atlantis?

The security guard at the door may or may not ask for you to flash a room key. Restaurant and bars near pool only take room key, it's cashless. You will need it. Front desk won't have any problem getting you setup.

BNBR Posted October 8, 2017 #15 Share Posted October 8, 2017 No more wristbands? At Baha Mar? I've stayed there multiple times and never seen a wristband anywhere. They will ask you to show your room key, and often won't even ask. Usually more so by the elevators than the pool area. It's a very relaxed atmosphere and not crowded. Since it's not fully opened, you feel you get everything to yourself almost.

So you can hold onto your key pass (presumably deactivated) after you have checked out to use facilities for the rest of the day until you leave? Reports earlier in this thread said non-guests were welcome to "visit"shops, restaurants tennis and golf. How would they pay if it is cashless? We went to the beach the day we left and got food using our room key all the same. Not all shops are cashless, they are independent contractors. The bar and restaurant by the pool I've been told multiple times to pay with room key and that it's cashless. If you have a lot of questions and concerns, just call. I've gone and my room isn't ready still go to the beach, etc. Get a room card anyways.

Still trying to decide if it will be too cool in December to warrant this during our extended stay on Liberty! Only want to use the pools not the casino so thinking this may not be our best plan at that time of year although price is good.
Freddy and the Cruisers Posted October 12, 2017 #19 Share Posted October 12, 2017 so do you think getting a room for one person in order to get one key would work for a family of 5? We would just use the beach/pools. Our kids are 8, 7, and 4.... so don't really want to spend a ton of $$ for Atlantis. A room for 5 people is over $1K... so that would not be worth it just to have access to the beach for a day.

Suzyrn89 Posted October 13, 2017 #22 Share Posted October 13, 2017 Go online and quote the comfort suites for 4, they normally limit to 4, but you may be able to add a crib to make it to 5 per room. All their rooms include the day pass for full access to atlantis, I was skeptical and called them about this before we went 2 years ago. You are not cheating anything, you will have the wristbands to wear for Atlantis. You go directly to Confort siites by taxi, you check in and check right back out never using the room. They expect this and do it all the time. I'm looking to do the same at Baha Mar, last time we did it at comfort suites we coordinated through our roll call to share with 3 others because we had to so 2 rooms, so got our price lower. :) so do you think getting a room for one person in order to get one key would work for a family of 5? Do I think it will work at Baha Mar based on my multiple experiences there? Yes. Can I guarantee it? Heck no. My experience was they were super relaxed, a flash of the room key and everyone can go outside as they please. Half the time they didn't even ask for the key. But if they get stricter, don't hold me responsible! I don't think it's seriously going to be an issue though. You can always call the hotel, they are really nice. They don't scan keys or anything. As long as you show you have a key you are good. Walk in and have your wife and others go hang in the casino. You go to desk and check in and get a 2nd key. Meet your wife and hand her a key as well. They WANT visitors at Baha Mar. I just can't fathom them jerking you around. Worst case you may be forced to get a second room, though unlikely. Plan for the worst and you won't be disappointed. mjkacmom Posted October 13, 2017 #25 Share Posted October 13, 2017 I priced it out for a Thursday in November, a room for 2, the cheapest rate I saw was $279 after taxes and fees. For my family of 7, still cheaper than the Melia. I might look into it for the next time, it looks amazing!
