Is a 10:50 am flight too early out of FLL?

You are "scheduled" to arrive at 8:00 which makes it very doable.

Things to consider that could happen:

Medical emergency

Engine / propulsion problems

Weather ( it is Hurricane season) Been there!

Customs doing crew check never know when that happens always random.

Customs being customs ( Yes we have had a very, very invasive one) . Another agent stood there and just shook his head.

All of the above not likely to happen, but "could".

We were on the Sensation last week and there was a medical emergency. We had to stop at Nassau. Instead of docking in Miami at 8:00 am we docked at 9:15ish. They did not start calling decks for debarking until 10:00. We were very glad we had a later flight. They did open phone lines for people to make arrangements though.

After 30+ cruises, it would make me antsy. I would go for 12pm or later, just for the stress factor. If you are released to disembark earlier you can eat breakfast/lunch and then have a leisurely disembarkation. Just in my humble opinion.

last year i flew out of fll to Indianapolis on the Friday before Memorial Day. I had been on a cruise that had ended in Miami on Thursday. My flight to Indy was at 1030. I had turned the car in and was in line at security by 9:00. The line was horrific and we barely made it to the plane. We did make it but it was too close for me. The TSA was even pulling people out of line depending on what time you plane left to get the ones with earlier flights through.
