mandms40 Posted November 29, 2005 #1 Share Posted November 29, 2005 We are booked at the Bahia Mar for Dec. 4th and Dec. 10th, I requested a non smoking room, I called down there to make sure my reservations were correct(went thru Priceline) and they have put us on the 3rd floor of the marine building, which they told me was the only smoking floor! How do I get off this floor? They told me to call Priceline and have my reservation changed, well, we all know that wont happen. You cant call them any request another floor! Please help, what do I do, I get Bronchitis in smokey rooms! Thanks, sandy
BlueHerons Posted November 29, 2005 #2 Share Posted November 29, 2005 Sandy, call the hotel back at night and try and sweet talk someone into changing your room. Also, have them note on your reservation that you are allergic to smoke. Night reservations people are usually a little more flexible. The only way I can imagine that they would not move you would be if the hotel was full. Priceline will not guarentee non smoking.
TrentS Posted November 29, 2005 #3 Share Posted November 29, 2005 Well I don't know what to tell you other than Blue Heron's suggestion... Sorry, but that's one of the problems when going through Priceline or any of the other discounters. If they're not full they're usually flexible, but there are no guarantees with Priceline other than "a room".
Bequia Posted November 29, 2005 #4 Share Posted November 29, 2005 You could also ask them what it would cost $$$ to keep you out of a smoking room. Money talks. ;)
lgarner Posted November 29, 2005 #5 Share Posted November 29, 2005 It also doesn't hurt to mention that you are a cruise critic member - not as a threat but that you could give them a really good review if all goes well. Well, okay, its a veiled threat.
Rare Lois R Posted November 30, 2005 #6 Share Posted November 30, 2005 Hi, I have another suggestion. When you call back, ask for the General Manager. Sometimes going to the top helps as well. Explain in a calm manner your situation. If he/she has any people skills at all.....they will try their best to change your room.
