nccruzencouple Posted July 10, 2017 #1 Share Posted July 10, 2017 I am noticing that Carnival has only 3 excursions posted for a cruise I am going on in February 2018 for Half Moon Cay. Does anybody know if they wait closer to the time to put them up on their website? Thanks in advance.
reerun25 Posted July 10, 2017 #2 Share Posted July 10, 2017 Yes, there are 13 excursions at HMC, of those, 3 are the cabana, villa, private oasis rentals, the rest are snorkeling, horseback riding, stingrays, bike riding, kayaking, walking tour, jet skis, lagoon tour. Purvis1231 Posted July 10, 2017 #3 Share Posted July 10, 2017 A few months before the cruise all the excursions will be listed.

teknoge3k Posted July 10, 2017 #5 Share Posted July 10, 2017 Get the cabana if you can!
Pellaz Posted July 10, 2017 #6 Share Posted July 10, 2017 Get the cabana if you can! I'll second this. It's virtually a no-brainer for a group of four and IMO a great option even for a group of two. For six or more, get a 2-story villa and if you have a BIG group, the Private Oasis. All of these are among Carnival's highest-rated excursions for any port. LynnB Posted July 10, 2017 #7 Share Posted July 10, 2017 The cabanas are listed as "sold out" for my upcoming cruise. Does this mean I am out of luck or do they hold some back to reserve once onboard? Thanks!
smurfm69 Posted July 10, 2017 #8 Share Posted July 10, 2017 Definitely one of the best beaches I have been to. I would get a cabana every time I go to HMC.

I would keep checking back though, sometimes around final payment deadline, people will cancel and one may come open. I have not rented a cabana, but have rented a villa, and it was awesome. Voyagers Posted July 11, 2017 #10 Share Posted July 11, 2017 DW and I were at HMC last week. One of the best beaches we have ever been to (on our 12th cruise). The water is that clear Caribbean blue, and the ocean floor is very smooth and easy to walk on. We spent most of our time in the water. The cabanas looked nice but we didn't really need one. BTW as a tip I recommend a waterproof phone bag. Great for storing your cell phone, room cards, etc. while in the water. You can also take pictures while your phone is still in the bag. Have fun! camijo Posted July 11, 2017 #11 Share Posted July 11, 2017 I would definitely keep checking for a cabana. Seems expensive but so worth the price. HMC will not disappoint! I didn't want to leave and hope to go again!
jocko4279 Posted July 11, 2017 #12 Share Posted July 11, 2017 The villa is a hoot. I definitely recommend experiencing it once......or twice
tandemcruzr Posted July 12, 2017 #13 Share Posted July 12, 2017 No, they do not hold any back to reserve onboard.. That's what we thought too. However, we kept checking right up to the day we left for the port and all were 'sold out.' When we boarded, on a whim I went to the Excursion desk and they had 3 Cabanas available. I snagged one as a surprise for another couple joining us. But, as we were sitting in the lounge for us to get off the ship, the Captain announced that due to strong winds, we would not be able to get to HMC, so it became another Sea Day. We are now 2 for 5 at HMC. :(

LynnB, best to go to Shore Excursions as soon as you board and ask to be put on a waitlist. There seems to be a fair chance that you'll get one. But, I DID have $1,500 of refundable onboard credit to blow in the casino!* --- * No, I didn't, I refunded it back to our roll call members via PayPal like a good boy :D
