Celebrity Suite connecting door

I just noticed that our booked Celebrity Suite (and all other Celebrity Suites) on the Summit has a connecting door. We have never booked a cabin with a connecting door and was wondering if it is noisy and how secure it is. I understand that these doors are different on various ships so I am particularly interested in the Summit.

I'm not sure if there is a difference between the CS suites on various M-class ships. We had a CS on Connie -- the deck plans look identical to Summit. Frankly, I don't even remember where the connecting door was in the cabin -- and it certainly was not a noise issue. Nor did it detract from the storage in the suite (as connecting doors do in regular cabins) -- we had so many drawers and shelves that we never began to fill them all! We were more worried about noise from the corridor, since the bed is right on that wall -- but again there were no issues whatsoever. CS on M-class is wonderful! The big difference among the 8 cabins is that 4 face forward and could have wind when the ship is underway, and the 2 on deck nine have public spaces above. We had 6104 (forward-facing) and it was fine. I believe that 6106, 7140 and 8106 would be even better.

The connecting door was never a problem for us. We love the Celebrity Suites on the Summit and the other M-class ships.

Those great panoramic living room windows are the best.

That connecting door you are concerned about is in the entrance hallway, right before you enter the living room.

The bedroom is on the opposite side, so the hallway actually provides a buffer between that connecting door and the bedroom wall.

We have stayed in several Celebrity Suites, never heard a sound from the adjoining suite and never had any security concerns.

There is very little foot traffic in the corridor outside the Celebrity Suites as the layout is designed so that passengers heading to or from the central elevators and stairs turn off before they ever get to that section of the corridor.

The only real negative to those suites (in my opinion) is their high bathtubs, which many find difficult for climbing in and out.

There is no separate stall shower. The only shower is inside the tub, so that can be a problem for someone with mobility problems.

Other than that, they are great suites, ideally located in the center of the ship. They are wonderful for 2 people, but I would not want to book a third person in there because the only entrance to the one bathroom is through the bedroom.

The Celebrity Suites on the M-class ships even have a nice, full-sized dining table.
