Cabin dilemma on Norweign Dawn

Booked an ocean-view, mid-ship on deck 5. Don't want a balcony, but would like to move up to deck 8. Choices are obstructed ocean view (mid ship) or picture window aft. Any suggestions? Saving or spending extra money is not the issue. Thanks

Why no balcony? If you do not want to open the door, then leave it locked. Consider it a large window.

Since money is not an issue, there are some suites on the Dawn with large windows and no balcony. Maybe that?

Do Try the " sideway's " type on deck 8 . ;)

When booking a port-intensive cruise and inside cabins will not do, we like the OK cabins close to mid ship elevators. We like the sideways OK Obstructed on deck 8.

We have never stayed on decks 4 or 5.

We have done deck 8 obstructed OV on many ships, including the Dawn. Great location. As bluesea777 said, you are close to the midship elevators, which means you are also right by O'Sheehans and the Atrium (if you are very noise-sensitive, pick a room further up the hallway).

I do not like the lower decks 4 and 5, feels too far from the action. I know, everything is just an elevator ride away, or a few flights of stairs, but it gets old real quick having to do that every single time you leave the room or go back to your room.

If you choose the OA picture window category on deck 8, watch the location. The more aft you go you will be right over the night club. Not a problem if you're planning on staying up late but you could be bothered by the noise. Otherwise, these are nice rooms and the ones closer to the stair/elevators would be fine.
