We will be on the Eurodam's Alaskan cruise out of Seattle. We have the complimentary signature beverage package. Is it possible (either before we board or once on board) to pay the difference and upgrade to the elite package. Thanks!

I'll couch this answer with, "It depends." Some people have reported that the upgrade ($10/pp/day + 15% service charge, or $11.50/pp/day) was actively offered on their sailings. We had to sort of argue for ours, but we did get it. It's odd to have to argue for the chance to give the cruise line extra money, but that was the case.

The biggest difference is on the wines by the glass. Look over the wine list to see if it makes sense for you.

For plain old liquor, the SBP is usually fine. Again, there are some helpful lists that you can find on the HAL board. If you cannot locate them, just ask and I'm sure someone will help.

It took us the better part of the first afternoon to get the upgrade. I kept getting shut down. I tried three bartenders and the front desk before a waitress in the Crow's Nest came through for us. Don't take no for an answer. I was doing a Live From and it gave me something to write about.

When you finally got the upgrade did you have to upgrade for everyone in your cabin, assuming you weren't traveling solo?

I have the same question. Can I upgrade to the Elite while my DH keeps the SBP? Or does he have to upgrade to the Elite too?
