Drink package upgrade question resolved?

I searched through old threads to find out if you could upgrade a Signature drink package to the Elite package but was unable to find anything definitive. A lot of those threads were back soon after the Elite package was unveiled and there seemed to be a lot of uncertainty. But now it is a few months down the road and so some folks should have actual experience with this so I raise again.

 

Have people been able to actually do this upgrade? If so, on board or ahead of time? Cost?

The consensus was that for approx $10/day, you could upgrade it onboard at most of the bars.

It's $11.50 pp/day. It sounds like most ships allow you to upgrade. Some actively promote the upgrade. Ours, the Eurodam in December of 2016, said no upgrades to the complimentary SBP that came with Explore 4. Being a persistent people, we kept on asking different people until we got someone willing to take our money. If you get a "no," keep asking.

 

The base price of the upgrade is $10, and there's a 15% service charge.
