Allure-Aug 27th live review

Recommended Posts

Great review! We are on Allure on the 9/17 sailing. Hope all is as smooth for us as it is for you so far!

Questions with the casino Did you see what the table minimum was for games like "let it ride" and "three card poker," etc.? Also was there a lot of action at the poker tables?

Thanks,

Joe.

I saw the minimums were between 10-15 the couple times I have walked thru but at 730pm last night the tables were almost empty except for one or two

But today we leave at 1pm so I'm about to go walk thru again and see what I can find I'll let you know though!

Loving your review! Could you please tell me I have and IPad do you know can you only pickup internet in cabin? Or does it come in all around ship?

Thank you

I've been using my iPhone and get it pretty much everywhere on the ship and have had no issues connecting at all. My wife and I have been sharing the code but two devices can't be logged in at the same time which is no biggie for us.

Thanks for the review! Do you notice any difference or problems with not having the full propulsion of the ship

Other than shorter port times I wouldn't have even noticed but we have been cruising right around 19kts

Hello again from somewhere in the Atlantic!

Day 2 Nassau:

Today we slept in some and grabbed breakfast at the wind jammer which was still crowded around 930 but still we were able to find a table no problem. The biggest problem so far has been the elevators since we are on deck 8 most of them are full going up or down by the time they get to us. Those that are willing and able should take the stairs as it will save you time. It's funny cause some people use them for just one floor which is slightly frustrating in my own opinion. I do understand medical restrictions and such but if your in your 20's or 30's you can take the stairs for one floor. Sorry end of rant. Multiple times we have waited for two or three elevators then just say forget it and take the stairs.

Nassau we had nothing planned but being all aboard was at 1230pm we didn't feel it was enough time to really do anything so we got off and wonder around town and looked in some shops. A tip for Nassau is make sure you bring your ID as you need it to re-enter the port as I know some ports just look for your key card.

Once back on the boat we changed and headed up to the pool for some well need sunshine. For those not familiar with allure she has multiple pools and we decided to try out the beach pool which was salt water. They even have chairs and loungers with umbrellas and the water even goes up to some of them. After about an hour and half we got too hot and headed back to change and grab some lunch.

We decided on park cafe in Central Park as it was close and I have always read about these amazing roast beef sandwiches. There was a line but it moved fairly quickly. You could build your own salad or grab a panini. I picked the roast beef sandwich and Cuban panini and a bag of chips. My wife got a grab chef salad which said said was ok just had too much cabbage. They also made other paninis and fruits cups and sandwiches. The down side with eating at park cafe is not a lot of shade. After lunch we headed back to the room to relax. We did starting hearing some noise from the sail away part in the aqua theater so we decided to watch which was pretty cool seeing all the activities staff and dream works characters do the different dances. For those with kids they also have a dream works channel which constantly plays movies from dream works.

After some napping I decided it was time to hit the tables and win some money at blackjack. For those not aware the desk is not auto shuffled. I end up playing for an hour and won enough where I decided it was time to walk away. I then went back to the room to get ready and check on my wife. She was very pleased with the room and shower and made sure to tell me it even has a bar across at the bottom of the shower for a female to prop up their legs so they could shave. She also says for those who appreciate real shampoo and conditioner should definitely bring their own (which we do). The 2-in-1 combo the ship offers in the rooms is low quality and the bottles to purchase on board are over priced.

Tonight was formal night and we are in the main dining room. I was able to email RCCL before hand and they set me up with an awesome table for two right near a window with a beautiful ocean view! I had the beef filet tenderloin and it was absolutely amazing just as heads up the portions aren't very big so sometimes it better order multiple appetizers. The escargot and scallops were very good!! The deserts were good. We had cheesecake, chocolate soufflé and chocolate cake. After dinner we went and took some pictures and did some window shopping in Kate spade. Then we headed back to the room to change for the show at the aqua theater. I think it was called ocean aria. It was pretty cool show and took about 35 mins and was pretty entertaining. The balance artists were really impressive! After the show I headed back to the casino for even more blackjack though this time the wife was with me although she didn't play. We did make a quick pit stop to grab a slice of pizza at Sorrentos. At the casino we had a good table including two gentlemen who were playing huge with money. I think one walked away with over 5k! This table was more lively and fun than the two other times I played! I was up a pretty good amount and should of walk away but didn't though I still did walk away winning some money. In the casino I also didn't really notice a smell of smoke like in other so that was an upside.

After playing it was time for the comedy show. This was the first time we had been down to the entertainment area and it was pretty cool and made multiple venues and even sold popcorn! I can not stress enough get the shows early and make reservations online ahead of time. Almost every show so far has been packed! The comedy show was absolutely amazing I haven't ever laughed so hard at one of them before! This is an absolute must do just make sure to again get there early and be aware it is an adult show some cuss words and sexual innuendos. After the comedy show I went back to tables around midnight and again took another small chunk for the casino! This was by far the busiest I have seen the casino yet multiple table were full. At this time you began to notice the players who were very intoxicated and not playing by the book at all. After cashing out I headed back to the room for bed.

Tomorrow is a sea day. That all for now folks stay tuned for more updates.

They were Rick Corso and Troy Thirdgill

Hope they are on next week. I've seen Troy a few times and it's been about a year since last time. He keeps it fresh. And he's not bad on the eyes either🤦🏽*♀️. I digressed.

Thank you for your reply! Have fun! Appreciate you taking the time.
