mosiegirl Posted September 3, 2017 #151 Share Posted September 3, 2017 We leave the 9th from Fort Lauderdale on the Conquest for our first cruise. I am watching this hurricane like a crazy woman. I know I can't change the weather but I did so much research into our ports!!! I hope she doesn't cause to much distruction or ruin to many vacation plans. I will be on this exact same cruise with you. If anything, they might change our Eastern Intinerary to a Western.. due to Irma..

kikimom Posted September 3, 2017 #153 Share Posted September 3, 2017 Lem_On_Ade - I'm on the same sailing as you. Keeping my fingers crossed also. That's our cruise, too! Prayers for smooth sailing.

Boston Bam Posted September 3, 2017 #155 Share Posted September 3, 2017 So we're on carnival conquest on the 9th. This is my first cruise. Does carnival usually give you good notification if the cruise is canceled? The way its looking if it hits Florida its going to be around the 9th. I'm worried because we're flying in the 8th and staying in ft lauderdale. I don't wanna fly all the way there to just be stuck in a hurricane. cruzn buckeye Posted September 3, 2017 #157 Share Posted September 3, 2017 We are cruising on a 4 day Bahama cruise leaving on 9/14. Watching both Irma and the one brewing right after.... forgot to add insurance to my booking.. is it too late? Also, since it is only a four day, wondering if they reroute us Western... will we have any stops? or maybe will it become a longer cruise?? Who knows... after most cruises that I have taken, only a few out of the 28 have been rerouted. Never cancelled.. and all worked out fine... With the Bahamas being in Irmas path, they could sustain much damage... prayers for all in Irma's path.
ZoeyVictoria Posted September 3, 2017 #158 Share Posted September 3, 2017 i am booked on the Liberty, leaving Port Canaveral on the 10th and going to the Bahamas (where Irma is possibly headed late this week). I haven't sailed out of Port Canaveral much; does anybody know if there is an alternate itinerary from PC instead of the Bahamas on a 4-night cruise? When choosing to cruise during hurricane season, Mother Nature dictates what happens. It is what it is! Once on the ship the captain and crew aren't going to put you or the ship in peril. BombChelle96 Posted September 4, 2017 #161 Share Posted September 4, 2017 I'm supposed to be sailing out of Port Canaveral on the 9th. I'll be bummed if we don't get to but I'm trying not to worry about it since I can't control the weather. I'm just going to cross my fingers and hope for the best! We r sailing on 9/9 from Canaveral too. Leaving on the Magic. We can sail wherever as long as I get a week away on a ship. Its our honeymoon lol:D:hearteyes:
Shaded Lady Posted September 4, 2017 #162 Share Posted September 4, 2017 I pray she takes a hard right and skirts up the East Coast far enough out to sea to not to do any damage... but I REALLY hope she doesn't get into the gulf and hit Eastern Texas... Lord those poor folks can't take anymore...

Zevonfan Posted September 4, 2017 #164 Share Posted September 4, 2017 I'm going on the Pride next week also. My 10th time on this boat. Hope to see you there. I'll be at the casino, the piano bar, trivia and karaoke. Hello. I'm new here and we are going on our first cruise next Sunday the 10th, out of Baltimore. I've never paid much attention to hurricanes so don't know much about them. Should we be concerned? We are supposed to go to Grand Turk, Half Moon Cay and Freeport. Gray Vine Posted September 4, 2017 #166 Share Posted September 4, 2017 UPDATE: Carnival Cruise Lines confirms that additional itineraries are being modified in order to keep their ships and crew out of Hurricane Irma’s projected path. In addition to the Carnival Glory changes mentioned below, three other ships will see their itineraries altered. Carnival Magic: The six-day cruise departing out of Port Canaveral today originally was slated to to visit Nassau, followed by a day at sea, Amber Cove, Grand Turk and another sea day before returning to Florida. Instead, she will spend tomorrow at sea before visiting Cozumel, Belize and Costa Maya, followed by a final sea day as she returns to Port Canaveral. Carnival Splendor: This six-day sailing out of Fort Lauderdale was originally slated to visit Nassau, Half Moon Cay, Grand Turk and Amber Cove before spending a final day at sea on its way back to Port Everglades. Instead, she will spend tomorrow at sea before visiting COzumel, Mahogany Bay and Belize, followed by another sea day on her way back to Port Everglades. Carnival Pride: The ship’s seven-day cruise out of Baltimore was originally slated to spend two days at sea before sailing to Grand Turk and Half Moon Cay, followed by two sea days on her way back to Baltimore. Instead, she will now spend Monday at sea, then call upon Charleston, Freeport and Nassau before spending two days at sea sailing back to Baltimore. ***From Cruise Radio***

dijid Posted September 4, 2017 #170 Share Posted September 4, 2017 I'm on the Friday departure of the Victory out of Miami. It's a 3 nighter that overnights Nassau, and if Irma doesn't change course, it looks like the entire trip is in the hurricane zone. I'm not even sure what they could do to re-route this. Time to go make some sacrificies to the weather gods so Irma heads back out to sea and doesn't make landfall anywhere!

perditax Posted September 4, 2017 #172 Share Posted September 4, 2017 This will sound stupid but what dates are these changes for? I think they must all be this week. You have to read the descriptions carefully. I think some of them must already be underway.

perditax Posted September 4, 2017 #174 Share Posted September 4, 2017 Oh I hope so. Maybe there's still hope for us next week. When are you supposed to leave? Unfortunately there is some chance for an East Coast landfall later on as far north as Maryland. (I'm in the storm's possible path myself, and supposed to sail on the 17th from Florida.)
