Unpaid Auto-gratuities reimbursed by the cruise line?

If he keeps getting extra cash from many cabins due to his outstanding service, it will boost his career & he will soon get promoted

 

Unless he (or she) has to use the extra tips to make up for a passenger who removed them in order to protect his or her job. Whenever I leave extra cash for extra service I make it a point to fill out a comment card at guest services to recognize the employee. Those types of recognition are more permanent and may lead to promotions.
