It's not just getting off the ship. A couple years ago our arrival back in port was delayed 2+ hours after going off course related to passenger transport for a medical emergency. I always book flights for late afternoon

Just walk off the ship. FLL is very easy. In general if the ship is not delayed you can walk off by 7:30. Customs is usually less than 45 min for early walk offs. 15 min cab ride to airport with a 30-45 min cushion.
