I know that I've read on here that Princess blocks streaming sites on board (Netflix etc), but I was wondering if anyone had successfully used FaceTime/Skype/Google Hangouts on board? I'll be on Star.

Things that are bandwidth intensive are heavily frowned upon as they adversely impact everybody else's Internet connection. Try to stay away from video. If you absolutely must use video then do it after midnight in the wee hours of the morning when most people are asleep.

Actually, depending on where the ship is, from about 11pm to 2am, the crew starts Facetiming their families around the world and the internet gets very slow. Much faster around 6am.
