best way to afford solo

I too, sail SOLO a lot, and haven't found a good, fool proof way to get the best rate. (I'd love to bring a "friend", but my wife won't let me!) LOL I usually just price the cruise I'm interested in several ways, and pick the one that's the best. I almost always end up in an "upper/lower", and you'd think Carnival would be happy to find someone who is happy there. LOL

LOL yes. For my first couple of cruises, on the booking engine, they actually SUBTRACTED $5 a day from the interior price for taking an upper/lower, and that included the porthole rooms.
