Caribbean Car Seat requirements

We are trying to get away with NOT bringing a car seat on ur 7-day cruise. Does anybody know anything about needing a car seat in Puerto Rico? We're wondering about the taxi ride from airport to hotel and hotel to seaport.

 

We're pretty sure none of the islands require car seats after being there before...

Puerto Rico is the United States, so I'd expect they'd have similar regulations.

As a parent, my concern would not be if a car seat was required, but what is safest for my child.
