Muushka Posted September 28, 2017 #1 Share Posted September 28, 2017 Has anyone done this cruise line sponsored excursion? Overview Beans to Bar - The Chocolate Express Tour Savor the flavors of Soufrière on this journey to Hotel Chocolat where you'll enjoy a hands-on chocolate-making workshop. Discover where chocolate comes from during a visit to the cocoa seeding nursery. View the cacao beans in their pods. Then, visit Hotel Chocolat's fermenting room and sun-drying station. Taste the beans and learn about their distinctive characteristics. De-shell, grind the beans, and craft your own recipe. Mix and pour the chocolate to form your own signature chocolate bar. Then, indulge your senses and take a delicious bite of your hand-crafted chocolate. Browse the shop and purchase locally hand-made chocolate. Finally, savor a delicious lunch at the local Boucan Restaurant and take in stunning views of the Pitons in the lovely town of Soufrière. SLK1 $189 per adult It is kind of pricey but it does include lunch at Boucan Restaurant. We have some OBC and thought this would be a special way of spending it. Thanks! We have some OBC and thought this would be a special way of spending it. Thanks! We've done Bean to Bar, although not in a ship's excursion. And done lunch and dinner at Boucan many a time. It's delicious It is an interesting tour. The chocolate bar you make is not the world's greatest - usually turns out a bit bitter and grainy, but it's fun and unique for sure. And the tour is interesting, particularly if you're into chocolate! The price is quite good, you couldn't really do it cheaper on your own. A cab alone would run $200 r/t, the tour is around $80USD per person, and lunch would easily run around $50 or more per person. So the tour price is quite good. You'll see the Pitons on this trip too, although not long extensive views, you'll see them from some great vantage points. Enjoy it!

mrs_vee Posted November 16, 2017 #4 Share Posted November 16, 2017 Can you tell me who you booked your tour through? We'll be in St. Lucia next month, but this isn't offered as one of the cruise line's shore excursions. We've done Bean to Bar, although not in a ship's excursion. We'll be in St. Lucia next month, but this isn't offered as one of the cruise line's shore excursions. We booked and did it directly through the hotel. Some operators you could check wirh include Serenity TVL, PHV Tours and Taxi, Island Man Taxi and Tours, Barefoot Holidays, Solar Tours and Taxi... Or book direct with hotel and grab a cab - potentially more expensive, but an option nonetheless.. Enjoy.
