OK. I never believed something like this would actually happen to me, but when I saw those two blonde stewardesses... oh, wait, you're talking about the ship. The Fantasy was my first cruise, back in 1992 - my foggy memories combined with the ship refurbishment and aging probably won't help you! Great subject line, though.

We (DH and I) just got back from the 4 day (Nov13-17). We had a great time and met some wonderful people. Shows were good, food was good and I found out I need a little help from Dramamine. It was our first cruise and will not be our last. The crew was friendly and there was always something to do. I also won $75 in the nickel slots on board and immediately cashed it in and left the casino. That just about paid our bar bill. The best dessert we had was the Grand Marnier Souffle on formal night. That was very good. Eat in the dining room as much as possible, including breakfast and lunch on the day at sea. We toured Atlantis in Nassau and had lunch at Senor Frog's (great food and margaritas). Also, there is a new putt putt course on the sports deck. Sounded like a good idea til we tried to putt with winds of about 25 mph. It was fun anyway. We're now looking at 7 day cruises to take next fall for our 25th anniversary. Port Canaveral is an easy port to get in and out of. We stayed at the Radisson and had a ride there and back. We were in a Cat 11 suite so we walked right in at 12:20 and by 12:30 we were on board because we were escorted to the front of the line. Now we're spoiled and want to book a suite next time just for the treatment getting on and the ease of finding our luggage when we disembarked. A lot less luggage for that cat/deck. You'll have fun.

Well, I've not been on the Fantasy but based on the title of this post I suspect the views number will be up around 1000 in 24 hours!! I loved it!!

Forty three days until the Fascination--but who's counting???? Oh yeah, I am!!! :D

I've been on the Fantasy twice, most recently on the three-day that left 11/17. It was awesome! The food was great, the entertainment was great, everything was great. Even though it is a short cruise, it's obvious that the crew takes great pride in the ship and service. The ship was refurbished recently and is in terrific shape.

Don't know what else to say, specifically. I haven't cruised RCI so I can't compare them.

Formal night on the 4 day is Monday night after you leave Freeport. The Captain's reception is before your dinner. Ours was at 7 and dinner at 8:30. Free drinks (I had champagne) and hors d'oeuvres. Most people were dressed up. We saw everything from ball gowns to pant suits and tuxes to sports jackets in the dining room. Most people (including us) changed after dinner and went to the Midnight buffet (Mexican) after the show.

I keep feeling like I'm stuck on deja vu, lol....

We were on the Fantasy, May 2004. I'd almost say I preferred her to the Elation, except for the Elation is newer and had a lot less 'bright' colours. I understand that since the refurb they've toned down the colour scheme a little on the Fantasy. The service was better and the food was better than the Elation, but it could have just been the staff. We had cabin M29-portholes, but was loud in the morning with docking.

We did the 4 day, went shopping in Freeport, and did the Nassau Highlights tour in-guess where?-Nassau. It was a nice quick, informative tour. Went to Senor Frog's after dinner.

Edit: I'm a firm believer that as long as you look a little more dressed up than usual for your Formal night, don't worry about it. I have a 24 hour drive down to the piers in Florida-any formal dress I bring or tuxedo my DBF brings will be horrible looking by the time we get down there, and I can't afford to press them on ship (believe me-brought a prom dress on the Fantasy!).

Instead, I still wear something 'much' nicer than I usually would wear on 'Casual' dinner nights in the dining room-but don't have to worry about my taffeta bunching. DBF wears a suit and tie, and ends up with the jacket off as soon as we get into the dining room anyways. I've never had anyone staring at us because we were underdressed-and have never felt underdressed since about half the people were dressed in the techincal sense of 'Formal', and the other half looked as 'nice' as we did.

Well, my DH and I took the auto train down and spent a week in WDW before our Fantasy cruise and our clothes survived just fine. It's how you pack them. I wore a two piece black dress, sheer fabric over the skirt with a hankerchief hem (half way between knee length and floor length) and the top had beading and sheer cap sleeves. My DH wore his suit and silk tie with a light colored dress shirt. It is possible to bring dressy clothes long distance/time and keep them from wrinkling badly. We purchased a 3-suiter specfically for this trip and it worked perfectly. We saw full skirted taffeta ball gowns and I can't imagine how you would pack that. The key is to pick a light weight fabric that doesn't crease easily and not cram a lot into a bag. I think it's fun to dress up and we got a decent formal picture out of it that's on display in our famiily room now.

In my FANTASY we were on the HOLIDAY for a CELEBRATION. We were traveling to PARADISE to fufill our DESTINY. I was filled with INSPIRATION at the thought of the ECSTASY that was to follow. My IMAGINATION was thinking of the ELATION that we would follow once we experienced the GLORY and the MIRACLE of VICTORY. We had the SPIRIT to overcome this CONQUEST. The anticipations of the PRIDE we would feel at the TRIUMPH was just too much to bear. Sweet LIBERTY what a SENSATION. I am filled with FASINATION that I was just spent time with the LEGEND.

FREEDOM at last.

Bravo Lynne! Thanks for the giggle. :)

I can't believe you caught that Duck! Nice one!

The funny part about this is that my first and only cruise was on the Valor. I could not shut up about it for months before we left. Then I leave it off my list.
