cbowls30 Posted October 8, 2017 #1 Share Posted October 8, 2017 hi all We're thinking of booking the above on conquest, but does this fall during us spring break? If so, will there be lots of college students getting drunk?!
Drazil65 Posted October 8, 2017 #2 Share Posted October 8, 2017 Spring break is different in different states/regions...our spring break starts 3/31/18 and runs through week after Easter. I think anytime in March or early April is going to be someone's break and you will probably encounter extra kids no matter what the age.
joepeka Posted October 8, 2017 #3 Share Posted October 8, 2017 We will be on Conquest the week after the OP and had the same concerns but due to grandkid's school schedules, had no choice for a family cruise. But after reading comments here from folks who have recently been on "spring break" cruises and that have reported not nearly the level of rowdiness you might expect, we booked it and are going expecting to have a nice time. Also, as mentioned above, school breaks in the spring tend to vary from region to region so it's not like all the kids are out the same week and overwhelming the cruise ships. Actually, what concerns me more is the eight cruise ships scheduled to be in Port Everglades the day we embark! :( Edit: the cruise the OP is considering is an eight day itinerary and definitely not within the scope or budget of most of the Spring break crowd. lizzyplague Posted October 8, 2017 #4 Share Posted October 8, 2017 We booked the March 3rd Conquest cruise. We did March 31st this year on Magic and there were A LOT of children.. but looking at most of the spring break times for the younger kids, it doesn't look like too many have it that early. Some colleges do but most college kids are not going to take a week long cruise for budget and time reasons.
easyboy Posted October 8, 2017 #5 Share Posted October 8, 2017 hi all We're thinking of booking the above on conquest, but does this fall during us spring break? If so, will there be lots of college students getting drunk?! Usually only on short cruises. Sent from my iPhone using Forums

wemjam Posted October 9, 2017 #8 Share Posted October 9, 2017 Best to stay away from all of March and first couple weeks of April.. this pretty much covers most spring breaks. I have sailed on mone cruise during spring break, will never do it again lol!
cruise_everywhere Posted October 9, 2017 #9 Share Posted October 9, 2017 Like others have mentioned... Spring break will be large with families most with under 18 kids, but the college kids will be on the shorter 3-5 night cruises instead of the full 7-9+ day cruises. I don't really remember there being more drunk people - just more people/kids in general. A lot less of the older crowd during this time as well. Kevin Hort Posted October 9, 2017 #10 Share Posted October 9, 2017 We are booked on this cruise and are not at all worried about college students on spring break. It is early for most schools to be on break at that time (although some definitely are) but because of the length and cost it is unlikely to be overrun with college students. Book it and enjoy yourself. Looks to be a great trip!
VictorWI Posted October 9, 2017 #11 Share Posted October 9, 2017 I am booked on that cruise with several friends so you might see a few drunk late 40's to early 50's years old. :D
Stefanosthecruiselover Posted October 9, 2017 #12 Share Posted October 9, 2017 I was on the Carnival Conquest March 1st 2015. The college kids overtook the pool after around 1pm on sea days (They slept in until late). They were somewhat annoying, but it was easy to get away from them.
