Captain Canuck Posted October 22, 2017 #2 Share Posted October 22, 2017 down the beach towards Diamond head..my fave spot...Shore Bird...restaurant right on the beach..great spot to watch the sunset..tiki torches...basically you buy the kind of meat you want (steak or fish) and bbcue it yourself on a huge grill...there is a guy to help....dinner comes with a salad bar.....I recommend grabbing a couple slices of pineapple to bbcue to go with the steak...sunset normally just after 6 so seating around 530 good...and they knock a couple bucks off for early bird dinner.... after dinner can walk down Waikiki beach enjoy
Deb B Posted October 22, 2017 #3 Share Posted October 22, 2017 Looks like Shore Bird closed September 30th. The owners decided to retire and did not extend their lease.

finest14 Posted October 25, 2017 #6 Share Posted October 25, 2017 Need good dinner spot near Hilton Hawaiin village with teens It's only a 15 minute walk to the Beach Walk. My teens like Cheeseburger in Paradise and the Yard House. There is also a Buffalo Wild Wings about 10 minutes in the other direction. We live in Kona so don't mind eating at "chain" restaurants when we're on Oahu or the mainland.
cccole Posted October 25, 2017 #7 Share Posted October 25, 2017 Check out The Barefoot Bar in front of the Hale Koa Hotel. This is not just available to military personnel and gets great reviews. We always enjoy being on or within view of the beach with our kids but our favorites are at the other end of Waikiki. The Barefoot Bar looks great, and your teens can enjoy some time in the water if you are enjoying an extra mai tai. Have a great time, Cherie
princeton12321 Posted October 25, 2017 #8 Share Posted October 25, 2017 Dukes isn't far- just on the other side of the Royal Hawaiian. It's a chain but it's fun and the food is decent and you can see the beach and water. We also like sitting on the patio at Halekulani- might be ok if they enjoy a slightly more upscale experience. Food is like bar bites.
cccole Posted October 25, 2017 #9 Share Posted October 25, 2017 One more comment re the Barefoot Bar...it is closer to the HHV than the closed Shorebird and if you will be there on a Friday night you should be able to see the HHV fireworks. They don't last long but are fun to see. We have watched them from in front of the Outrigger Reef, where the Shorebird is/was, which is a little further along. Have fun.
