Not sure if the card is available on all ships. I've never heard of it being available on day 1. All the reports I've seen indicate the card shows up in the last half of the cruise. Purchase at a bar.

Just off of Grandeur yesterday from a 9-night voyage to New England and Canada. The first 10-day drink card advertisement in the Cruise Compass showed up on the interior "Offers of the Day" section for Day 4, then made it's way to the front page news of the Compass for Day 5. They were selling them for $79 plus 18% gratuity, available at any bar.

That's pretty early for the drink card to show up. I wonder if they didn't make their numbers for the drink packages. Thanks!

That may be why on Freedom TA. 14 nights of the alcohol pkg is pricey.

Quench your thirst with unlimited bottle of water, juices, soda, and specialty coffee for only $110 +18% gratuity per person. Just ask your friendly bar staff in any of the bars for more information."

Turns out that we had some pretty rough weather on Day 8, so I'm not sure if what was in the Day 9 Compass had anything to do with that or not, but on Day 9, the half-page insert read: "Special Sea Day Beverage Package. Make your day at sea even more relaxed and carefree with our special one-day-only drink package. Treat yourself to unlimited beers, cocktails, and selected wines by the glass. Plus, quench your thirst with unlimited bottle of water, juices soda and specialty coffee for only $69 +18% gratuity per person. Just ask your friendly bar staff in any of the bars for more information."

I think that's the first time I recall seeing any type of beverage package like this, but then again, with our 2 wine bottles we brought on board, champagne at the Captain's reception, our buy-one-get-one offers with our C and A status, drinks at the top tier repeat cruisers party, winning beverages in the casino from raffle tickets on the C and A free spin machine, and losing about 30 hours of time due to rough seas on the evening of Day 7 and all of Day 8, our on-board bar bill this time totaled $20.06.
